They could possibly mean neovim. They appear to have spelled it wrong, though.

[-] neidu2@feddit.nl 21 points 4 months ago

vim was a mistake. Go back to vi.
...but modernizing it is still a good idea, so I present to you: neovi

(No, I'm not serious)

[-] AVincentInSpace@pawb.social 5 points 4 months ago

nvi is a thing

does not fit though

luckily we vim fanatics do not have to worry, through the power of wordle solver, we can use exits instead lol

emacs[esc]:wq

  1. Better than vim

I’m done here, this crossword is bullshit

[-] hollyberries@programming.dev 23 points 4 months ago

The answer has got to be helix ;)

[-] NegativeLookBehind@lemmy.world 13 points 4 months ago

We’re not friends anymore.

[-] CheesyFox@lemmy.sdf.org 6 points 4 months ago

no, it should be kakoune :P

[-] hinterlufer@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago
[-] happy_saw@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

I don't think about neovim being separate to vim, sorry.

[-] NegativeLookBehind@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

I’ll allow it.

[-] hallettj@leminal.space 3 points 4 months ago

It seems like only one side of the ancient rivalry is represented in the comments here. No worries, I'm right there with you.

[-] ichthys@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

I was expecting a 'better than emacs' clue to go along with this one.

[-] lemmyng@lemmy.ca 33 points 4 months ago

I think there's a mistake, I can't fit "neovim" into 8 across.

[-] waigl@lemmy.world 14 points 4 months ago

And "nothing" does not fit, either.

[-] PixelAlchemist@lemmy.world 22 points 4 months ago

You need a spell checker friend.

[-] Bolt@lemmy.world 21 points 4 months ago

Pretty confident in my solve. The only ones I didn't get myself were 20-down, 29-down (obvious in retrospect), and 21-across (inferred the word, but didn't know the tool).

I don't think your spoiler tag worked.

[-] Tartas1995@discuss.tchncs.de 9 points 4 months ago

Voyager Displays it correctly.

[-] JustARegularNerd@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

Rendered for me fine on Jerboa

Boost For Lemmy is not rendering spoiler tag

[-] AVincentInSpace@pawb.social 3 points 4 months ago

Are you using Sync? It never got the memo that Lemmy spoiler tags don't work the same way as Reddit ones and famously displays them improperly

[-] iz_ok@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 months ago

I am using Sync. Any suggestions on a better alternative?

[-] TwilightKiddy@programming.dev 2 points 4 months ago

Try Thunder.

[-] AVincentInSpace@pawb.social 2 points 4 months ago

The official app (maintained by the Lemmy developers) is Jerboa, which is what I've been using. It works well enough, although it always pays to shop around, install a bunch of different clients and see which you like best. Sync, to my knowledge, is the only client, for mobile or web, that renders spoilers in that broken way.

[-] Moshpirit@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

You can imagine my face reading the response of 15 lol I thought it was going to be a specific program hahaha I had a lot of fun with it and there were just a few I missed so I would love to see more like these in the future :)

[-] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 13 points 4 months ago

I wonder if anyone ever made a crossword that also works as a QR code

[-] nossaquesapao@lemmy.eco.br 13 points 4 months ago

Today I learned that gnome has a crossword maker. Now I need to play with it too!

[-] AceFuzzLord@lemm.ee 7 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

So... Anybody smarter than me know that 24 across is. I thought something like showering/bathing because supposedly people don't like to shower/cleanup as cons but neither seem to fit. Then I thought friends but that doesn't make sense either. So I got nothing.

Edit: Remove the ING from showering and it fits. Gotta check the connected ones to see if it works, though, assuming I get those right.

Edit Edit: I absolutely hate the "Best WM (Wayland) one because that is too subjective to be able to be answered correctly, if you ask me.

[-] AVincentInSpace@pawb.social 3 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

I get G _ N _ _ R there.

I'm not 100% confident about the G but the other two I'm positive of. It's not SHOWER but I have no idea what it is

[-] cetvrti_magi@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

Best WM (Wayland) shoud be Hyprland, it's exact length and fits with 18 and 32.

why are there so many List Files... ? Also 31 doesn't fit.

All those Distro Questions (29, 18, 27) are missing 2 spaces (OS is part of their name)

[-] BackOnMyBS@lemmy.autism.place 5 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

19 down - WinNT

Proof

LOL

[-] dysprosium@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 4 months ago
[-] RacoonVegetable@reddthat.com 4 points 4 months ago

Neither Vanilla OS nor Silverblue fit

Nice. I solved 22 (with 2 of them being unsure), there's 12 I don't know. I can only assume the multiple listings of 'List files in current directory' is a deliberate joke because you use it so much, but somehow it doesn't feel right.

You should find a website to share it where people can play it interactively! I'm sure such websites are out there, it's too obvious.

[-] AVincentInSpace@pawb.social 2 points 4 months ago

I got all of them but three.

I had to google to figure out

nuclei and eagle mode existed

I still cannot figure out 24 across.

[-] drew_belloc@programming.dev 2 points 4 months ago

I have no idea what 9 and 24 are, and at this point i don't know if i care anymore
