The small print at the bottom of the page is quite something.

Trump Watches are not designed, manufactured, distributed or sold by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization or any of their respective affiliates or principals. TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC uses the “Trump” name, image and likeness under a paid license agreement which may be terminated or revoked according to its terms. Trump Watches are intended as collectible items for individual enjoyment only, not for investment purposes. The images shown are for illustration purposes only and may not be an exact representation of the product. These watches are not political and have nothing to do with any political campaign

So they are absolute trash.

Bulk ordered from Ali Express

[-] Good_morning@lemmynsfw.com 33 points 2 weeks ago

So he's not seen as the one to directly profit from it, but can still make a quick buck on the licensing and play dumb when the watches are worthless crap

Wait we’re allowed to just declare that something isn’t political? Neat! I declare access to abortions to be non-political as well.

[-] cultsuperstar@lemmy.world 22 points 2 weeks ago

"These watches are not designed to give accurate time and should not be used to tell time or keep track of time."

[-] BarrelAgedBoredom@lemm.ee 20 points 2 weeks ago

🤔🤔🤔

[-] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 17 points 2 weeks ago

"TheBestWatchesonEarth" I can already imagine how tasteful the watches are based on the company name

[-] Mongostein@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 weeks ago

Oh, so these are AI images of a watch that doesn’t exist yet.

Must be gathering cash for one of his whores. Maybe that Jigsaw chick.

[-] Plum@lemmy.world 83 points 2 weeks ago

It's him. He's the whore.

[-] Hylactor@sopuli.xyz 44 points 2 weeks ago

Wow, these are some truly hideous watches. This has got to be a money laundering scheme or something. No one actually interested in watches would spend six figures on one of these.

[-] Samvega@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 2 weeks ago

It's not for people interested in watches. It's for people interested in seeing a large economy having a figurehead who is a complete fucking waste of space.

[-] Cethin@lemmy.zip 10 points 2 weeks ago

Honestly, better than I was expecting. I was expecting gaudy gold, maybe with some (probably fake) diamonds. You know, Trump's ugly style. These just look fairly plain and cheap. I agree it does look like money laundering because they're far from nice, but they're just not as ugly as I expected.

Since people keep commenting on how it looks. Here they are. That way you don't have to give that cretin more clicks.

Dude if someone told me this was a modded Seiko 5 with a "tourbillion" movement in it I would 100% believe it.

[-] Mongostein@lemmy.ca 13 points 2 weeks ago

What the fuck is a tourbillion?

[-] evidences@lemmy.world 16 points 2 weeks ago

It's essentially a fancy watch spring mechanism. So the open spot on the bottom of the dial is the tourbillion as it unwinds it rotates around.

[-] Mongostein@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 weeks ago
[-] storcholus@feddit.org 11 points 2 weeks ago

Might be automatic. That way the movement of the arm winds it

[-] evidences@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Generally yes, like the other reply said it might be automatic and self winding. It's a style of mechanical watch though so something somehow has to tension the spring that makes the watch run.

[-] werefreeatlast@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

Sadly it only has a fluxdepacitor. It's like a flux capacitor but it resists moving in time instead.

[-] TriflingToad@lemmy.world 17 points 2 weeks ago

those actually look kinda cool... for like $200.

[-] noxy@yiffit.net 28 points 2 weeks ago

the $500 ones have mineral glass crystals - sapphire coated.

movement is not mentioned, just "Automatic Movement With Date Window"

signature on the dial looks atrocious

grifter trash

[-] Freefall@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

Sapphire isn't even that expensive anymore. So cheap. The "automatic movement" really gives it Wal-Mart vibes 🤣

Is this not blatant money laundering?

[-] Eximius@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago

Unless he is destroying the watches and saying "oh look, I received these duffle bags of cash".

No, no, I think this is just blatant scamming.

[-] celsiustimeline@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 2 weeks ago

You don't need to destroy the watch for it to be money laundering. If he receives cash for the watch, he can hide the exact amount by means of some Weisselberg-esque money tricks.

But yeah, more than likely it's his semi yearly trashy overpriced product drop.

[-] Kit@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 2 weeks ago
  1. Trump gives Joe $1mil worth of Cocaine
  2. Trump manufacturers a watch at the cost of $10/each
  3. Joe buys 10 of these watches for $100k each

That is how you money launder via purchases. It's more common to use artwork but you get the gist.

You know it's got a tiny watch face so it doesn't dwarf his tiny hands.

[-] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 21 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

His hands aren't even particularly small. But he's an old, fat and decrepit man and he needs a very large and padded suit to give his body some sort of healthy appearance. His hands sticking out of that suit therefore look tiny.

Seriously, look at the pictures of him golfing in his XXXL polo shirt. The guy is shaped like one of the McNuggets

[-] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 18 points 2 weeks ago

LOL "gold"

yea, i'm sure. just like those fuglidiculous sneakers

[-] ravhall@discuss.online 17 points 2 weeks ago

Maybe he’s raising money FOR the poor… haha

[-] Krackalot@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 2 weeks ago

The money is exactly for that. All of it is going to someone who is bankrupt, morally bankrupt, but stil....

I was listening to some interviews with undecided voters.

Several saying that Trump is a business genius and has what it takes to balance the budget and run the economy.

These people are "low information voters" who saw a meme in tiktok once, so you can't really blame them. Still, it's weird that this impression has sick with him despite him being the worst economic manager in the history of forever.

she doesnt say it in sympathy

[-] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 weeks ago

She's downright pissed at these poor bitches that can't buy her watches.

[-] IamSparticles@lemmy.zip 14 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

The old weirdo doesn't have time for a second debate because he's too busy playing golf and hawking overpriced collectables.

[-] Suavevillain@lemmy.world 14 points 2 weeks ago

The Con-Man continues to live up to his reputation.

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago

sometimes I wish I could get away with such a blatant grift. I love my $15 wood and leather watch.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

Have you thought of selling it as a wood and leather watch- but with AI?

I’d love to know what brand these really are or who made them. Made in china or Mexico?

[-] SeaJ@lemm.ee 32 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

TheBestWatchesOnEarth LLC started in 07/2024.

Located at:

1309 Coffeen Avenue, Suite 1200 Sheridan, WY 82801

Which is also the location of a dozen other companies.

I can't really find any info on who owns it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was essentially owned by him and this is little more than money laundering.

Edit: Looks like it is registered by Cloud Peak Law Group, LLC and the filing was put in by Andrew Pierce. The last registered person on thir paperwork was Ashley Preston. They both work for Company Sage (Andrew Preston being the founder) which makes software to make it easy to start an LLC. But it seems odd to have your own employees be the registered person for the LLCs.
