Why would google be respomsible for this?
They kept declining app updates and running the dev around in circles until they gave up.
Unfortunate it to see it go down, but I prefer this one over the original:

The dev also dropped from the playstore over their practices, but builds are still up on their repo.
I'm surprised you're the only person talking about syncthing-fork and that it's not the top comment, it's the only android client I've actually used

Could've put the app into maintenance mode instead of archiving it.
According to the author, that has happened quite a while ago and we're now at the next step.
Someone would have to maintain it. And someone would have to make sure it's not Jia Tan.
Well that's not good... I'll have to find some other way to keep my phone in sync...
Maybe proton drive's sync is finally good enough...

I've been using Autosync for years with good results first with Drive and Dropbox and now Pcloud. Supports a lot of different cloud services though not Proton which is why I haven't started using that yet.
Interesting, I'll have to check it out.
The proton drive app does not have a way to automatically sync a specific directory. It's so infuriating, because they already have this implemented for the pictures.
The app in general is a long way off being a reliable every day use app. So many missing features.

Just in case anyone thinks nextcloud is the solution, it isn't. Can't do two way sync at all on Android.

Definitely piqued my interest. Did some digging and the main Android app was more-or-less on maintenance mode over the last few years as is.
I use the fork on one of my three Android devices and will likely transition the rest for future updates.
