sources told NOTUS that Heritage group chats have been how conservatives “tricked the Libs into believing Project 2025 wasn’t real.”

Pretty sure we all knew it was real.

Interesting that they see swing voters as "libs" by default.

[-] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 month ago

Because anyone not as right as themselves is a "lib".

What was that greatest trick that the devil pulled again? Oh well, I'm sure those are unrelated thoughts.

[-] SassyRamen@lemmy.world 58 points 1 month ago

Turns out an election and president CAN be bought.

[-] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 25 points 1 month ago

The irony is that corporate America and wealthy individuals have been doing this for several decades, and you're acting like it just started! 50 years of neoliberalism created the conditions for fascism to succeed.

[-] SassyRamen@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago

Yes, but we'd be playing ourselves for fools if we didn't admit that this time it's different.

[-] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I'd say the only thing that's different is the volume and blatantness of the corruption. Selling out the country for profit is always criminal, and it's so bad they don't even need to hide it anymore; decades of legalized corruption, putting corporations first, and zero consequences created the conditions for Trump to go mask off .

[-] dhork@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

On the cheap, too, considering Trump's campaign raised a fraction of Harris's....

[-] crusa187@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 month ago

Got the discount because of massive leverage over Trump - unless he won the election, he was eventually going to face serious criminal charges. Now he stands a good chance of getting off entirely scott free.

(We learned this in 2016)

But I was informed by some Lemmy users that Project 2025 was nothing to worry about and that if we were worried about it we were believing the propaganda that it was a boogeyman. And that Project 2025 was Harris's plan if she came into office too. And that it had also already been partially implemented under Biden as well. Is it possible that maybe that was wrong? That the Lemmy users saying that were actually the ones spouting the propaganda to not be scared about it? The propaganda that says that it's just a new iteration of the Mandate for Leadership and nothing to worry about?

No that can't be true.

[-] aesthelete@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

You'll never go broke betting on the gullibility of the average American voter.

[-] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

What can I market them to become rich?

[-] aesthelete@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Right now probably some tariff insurance that'll do nothing or deportation insurance that'll do nothing.

Also if you can buy any electronics that you foresee being in demand and hold them for a while I bet you'll get quite the payday if the tariffs go into effect.

Surely there was a better angle than 'up some dude's nose'

[-] misterdoctor@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Per the image description, that dude is Lara Trump lmfao

Republican presidential nominee and former U.S. President Donald Trump is reflected in the sunglasses of Lara Trump, wife of Eric Trump, while he speaks at a campaign rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, U.S., September 21, 2024

If we give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe it's a metaphor for slipping it under our noses?🤷‍♀️

Based on:

sources told NOTUS that Heritage group chats have been how conservatives “tricked the Libs into believing Project 2025 wasn’t real.”

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

This was all too expected.

Oh, and thanks to the bothsiderist media acting like people were just being "partisan" or "alarmist" over this stuff.

NOTUS....? Not the Greek god of hot, south wind, not Nepotism of the United States.

It's this: https://www.notus.org/

Looks okay at first glance
