She might not be terrible, she's had union support. Seems like a consolation prize for losing her congressional seat.

Republicans getting union support isnt much of an accomplishment.

[-] jordanlund@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

True, but I was more surprised at him picking someone who may not be actively horrible.

Yeah, you're so liberal.

She waa a terrible fucking Representative who got here seat due to fucking gerrymandering.

That's not the way Oregon congressional districts work.

She got her office because Kurt Schrader was trash-tier:

https://www.opb.org/article/2021/01/08/oregon-kurt-schrader-impeaching-trump-lynching/

Who then got primaried from the left and lost:

But, it turned out, nobody actually liked McLeod-Skinner, who comes across as a perennial candidate, and she blew it in the general vs. Chavez-Deremer.

Gee... where have we heard those complaints before?

Democrats have lost the automatic loyalty of labor, probably for good. I fully believe this administration will try to crush labor but not before cosying up to them to keep us pacified.

Labor might just be our best hope since the oarties have failed us. I don’t blame the Teamsters for withholding an endorsement. Labor is best as an independent power center, not the arm of a party.

I do. Dude literally spoke at the RNC. Fuck that.

Organized labor has shrunk to a point where large parts of the organized part can be pacified by either party while the rest of labor languish. A lot of Teamsters admit they voted on this election due to mainly social reasons instead of solidarity.

Organized labor can be an independent power center, but they don't even act like that.

So in other words, people in unions can also be pieces of shit.
