I assume Peta just wants to be in the news? The Sly Old Fox is not an offensive name.

PETA's only deal is raising awareness about the existence of PETA.

tears in eyes

are you a fox?

Pub owner should have said that they were exercising their religious freedom and quoting Jesus in Luke 13:32-34. And then sue PETA on the grounds of religiously motivated harassment.

I'm vegan, and I do honestly think that PETA get a bad rap for their animal shelter work, but their online presence is ridiculous and cringe and it doesn't surprise me at all that they get ripped to shreds constantly.

Well I hope Ms Allen can untwist her knickers and realize what she is asking is stupid as fuck and not harmful to animals in any capacity.

Not that I agree with PETA anyway but this does not help animals in the slightest. It's a waste of funds that could be better spent elsewhere to actually benefit animals.

People are morons

They're objecting is to the word sly

[-] TriflingToad@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

I don't understand, sly has the definition of "Clever or cunning, especially in the practice of deceit."
What's the issue with saying a fox is sneaky and deceiving?

[-] southsamurai@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

That's the point, it's a non issue.

[-] propter_hog@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

An animal rights group has been accused of undermining real issues after asking a pub to change its name, claiming it is offensive to foxes.

You can't make this shit up.

Apparently, Ms Allen is neither sly nor clever

[-] MrPoletki@feddit.uk 1 points 1 month ago

They should change the name to the Sly Old Foxtrot Oscar then.
