Debris on track on the straight not being picked up seems dangerous.

Oop looks like a Sauber ran over it as I was typing. Hamilton puncture.

Incredibly sloppy race direction.

[-] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

Sainz puncture!

That's a mega blunder by race direction.

[-] kerrypacker@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

This is a brand new feeling for Ferrari. "Did somebody else just fuck us? Only we fuck us!"

[-] rayquetzalcoatl@lemmy.world 16 points 1 month ago

What the actual fuck is happening lol

[-] kerrypacker@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

I think they replaced those race directors with some people from the WWE.

[-] rayquetzalcoatl@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago

There's absolutely no way on earth that the finishing order on track will be the finishing order given by the FIA 3 days from now. How on Earth does this absolutely ridiculous organisation still helm this sport? Are they all fucking drunk??

[-] Nighed@feddit.uk 7 points 1 month ago

They will have to examine who else didn't lift for the yellow and give them all a 35 second penalty......

[-] rayquetzalcoatl@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

It wasn't just me who saw the yellow flag/green flag/yellow flag/green flag/yellow flag/green flag graphic flickering, was it?

[-] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 month ago

Then also had issues with the safety car ending lights

[-] Nighed@feddit.uk 2 points 1 month ago

Nope, was flickering for a while, then they dropped it even with the debris....

[-] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

Zhou in the points currently. Please make it stay, racing gods ๐Ÿ™

[-] Artyom@lemm.ee 1 points 1 month ago

10 second penalty coming in tomorrow morning for being just an all around upstanding dude, dropping him to 11th place.

[-] hsr@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 1 month ago

Outstanding move from race control...

[-] kerrypacker@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

This could alter the outcome of the WCC. What a bunch of incompetent fucks.

[-] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 1 month ago

Feels like the point. To force it to last race

Race stewards: hold my 0.0 beer.

Now that's a shit show.

Fuck this I'm turning it off.

[-] Nighed@feddit.uk 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Pff. This is what happens when you fire two race directors....

[-] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

False start, puncture, speeding in the pitlane penalty for Hamilton. What an awful day for him.

Gasly in P5 going underappreciated. Alonso has also had an excellent recovery drive up to P7.

[-] Microw@lemm.ee 5 points 1 month ago

"I knew he was gonna do it" - well Alex he was on the inside, that's kinda on you

[-] essteeyou@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I think it's more a case of Stroll doing Stroll things.

[-] Nighed@feddit.uk 5 points 1 month ago

Punctures from the straight inc!

[-] Nighed@feddit.uk 3 points 1 month ago

Should have thrown a VSC

[-] hsr@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 month ago

Penalty Paradise

[-] mat@jlai.lu 4 points 1 month ago

A real shame for this mirror to not be picked up under vsc. Now a safety car is needed and I don't see how they cannot go through the pitlane

[-] urquell@lemm.ee 4 points 1 month ago

What is going on

[-] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Wew what a start.

Great start for Verstappen. Norris also got the jump on Russell.

Unfortunate for Colapinto. More damage ๐Ÿ˜ญ At least it wasn't his fault.

[-] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Dang Russell's race went from bad to worse with that pitstop. Free podium for Piastri.

[-] Microw@lemm.ee 3 points 1 month ago

I like Albon but this weekend he was driving like a dick

[-] kylian0087@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Idk what Vaseline Hamilton usage. But if you compare the 5 sec penalty for a false start with the last few races that's kinda ridiculous how low that is.

[-] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Tsunoda dropping down the order like crazy. Overtaken by 4 cars now.

[-] DV8@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

The commentary being salty about British drivers being punished is so delicious. They complain it's inconsistent but honestly it's the first time I think British drivers are being punished to the same degree as others have always been.

[-] Nighed@feddit.uk 6 points 1 month ago

I have no problem with the safety ones being penalised like that, they are really lax with it most of the time.

The problem is that because the stewards change all the time their harshness keeps changing.

For the stop go - as long as everyone else gets checked and similarly penalised then it's fine. Norris SHOULD have lifted, if even a token lift.

[-] DV8@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

I do agree that with changing stewards it's stupid. But when you look at how Norris went unpunished for literally creating an extremely unsafe situation after the aborted start it's high time they start giving out harsher penalties. And I'm undoubtedly biased myself but it's always British drivers who get away with that bullshit it seems.

[-] Nighed@feddit.uk 1 points 1 month ago

Might just be that there are loads of British drivers on the grid ATM.

[-] Coelacanth@feddit.nu 3 points 1 month ago

Incredible that a race with so many things happening somehow has been this shit.

[-] FrostyTrichs@walledgarden.xyz 2 points 1 month ago

Well that was certainly something.

[-] Nighed@feddit.uk 2 points 1 month ago

Norris must be getting close to a track limit penalty by now?

[-] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

This race has been a lot more dramatic than expected. Wonder what happened with Perez.
