Cause Rwanda is just like Monaco
Monaco has history but it's a boring racing track in this current era. Would love something different while Monaco becomes something else, like a parade race in vintage F1 cars that are all identical in parts
Monaco is the reason most venues want F1 in the first place. That's why Monaco's race is free for the organizers. In that newer cars have overcome the track in performance is another issue.
They have mostly overcome the track in size.
Are we going to play a juvenile down vote game?
IMO, you are spot on. Monaco was long enough for the old cars, but when they became quicker and lap times got nearer to sub-minute it's clear the track is too small. But,there is no way to make it longer. They were going man make a land mass in Monaco, but I don't know the status.
I didnโt down vote you, you paranoid asshole. But I will now.
Why does that matter? Not sure what point you're making here.
During the F1 weekend in Monaco, there is a lot of business going on, and it's because the rich want to be there. It's where the money is. The same can not be said for Rwanda
You've picked a fairly high bar for new F1 tracks if you're baseline is "where the super rich go to avoid tax".
And who says the same can't be true of Rwanda? It doesn't have to be at the same level as Monaco but that shouldn't disqualify the race from being held there.
I wonder what is specific about the African nation of Rwanda that means you discount them as a nation that can hold sports events.
And who says the same can't be true of Rwanda?
Would you fly thousands of miles to do business in Rwanda and enjoy a F1 weekend?
Further, does Rwanda have a fan base that will buy F1 tickets year after year to keep the stands full? Because, South Africa didn't.
In the end, it's all about prestige for these countries who have to foot the bill. Is Rwanda better served spending all that money on something else like it's people?
Would you fly thousands of miles to do business in Rwanda and enjoy a F1 weekend?
Why does F1 weekends have to do with business? We've been to about half a dozen races and not had to carry a laptop to any of them. We just, you know, enjoyed the racing ๐คท. And the race hasn't even started yet but you're writing it off, what's with that? Even if you did go for business, surely is highly dependent on the business in question? Are you speaking for all businesses when you say they won't go?
Is Rwanda better served spending all that money on something else like it's people?
That's up to them, not a random internet commentator. ๐ซ ๐คฃ
