I absolutely hate the Santa story. it basically tells poor kids they are fundamentally bad and at the same time takes credit away from hard working parents. we treat Santa like the Christmas mascot but have never credited him with bringing presents. that story is garbage.
My parents always told me that "Santa is the guy who gives out lollies at the shops". I always knew that parents gave the gifts.
