In context, it sounds like Johnson was threatening Elon with the post. That's appropriate.

Yeah, this is a non story. All he said was "think you can do better?", and Musk 'backed down'.

[-] Nougat@fedia.io 16 points 1 week ago

Could also be a feeler with plausible deniability, since there's already been murmuring about that very thing.

[-] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 2 points 1 week ago

You've never had a conversation about work like this before?

[-] Nougat@fedia.io 3 points 1 week ago

I have, but then I'm also not the Speaker of the House talking to the richest man in the world who also happens to be the incoming president's current boy toy.

[-] TachyonTele@lemm.ee -3 points 1 week ago

If you want to conspiracy theory it, you do you.

Dude, I said could be. It's not wholly out of the question, and I haven't made any crazy assumptions.

Let him fail like he does at everything else except lying, cheating and stealing. At least it will be public.

Eh, if you look at Thiel and Co's gameplan using the fundies to establish the technocracy was always the play.L
