Last line plausibly looks like "Not Korean" in bad English handwriting. Looked at that for way too long before seeing the 3rd line from the bottom
It's Mr. Not Korean from Pyongyang Oblast.
Pyongyang Oblast is best Oblast.
Why is Russia even trying to make such a blatantly false denial? What’s their motive for telling such a ridiculous lie?
Ukraine has had a "no mercenaries" policy IIRC, if NK troops are seen as mercenaries then maybe it'll legitimize Ukraine shopping for manpower.
I'm actually incredibly surprised Ukraine hasn't already. Russia has been using mercenaries the entire war, the involvement of north Korea is just a huge escalation.
I feel like it'd beat conscripting prisoners.
They do have multi-national volunteers fighting right from the beginning. Enough to form a few brigades with them. The difficulty with them is the language barrier. Hard to lay out a battle plan and give orders if you need multiple translators to do it.
That honestly makes no sense to me. Russia has, fully in the open, taken people from Cuba and other places this entire time. Why does Ukraine feel the need to be the bigger man on this? Russia will never play by the rules of civilized society, just like American conservatives.
Ah, okay. Thanks!
Didn't Ukraine not have people coming over from the likes of the UK to fight and such?
Yes there have been entire brigades stood up of British and US volunteers from the beginning. And they still exist today. We just hear as much about them in the news anymore.
Wait, so if a North Korean soldier commits a warcrime, then its Russia committing a warcrime then?
Oh wait, that's right, they don't care about warcrimes
I mean there's a whole Korean diaspora in Russia where they're neighboring countries. So stealthy they shared a border without anyone noticing!
Yeah, but this passport was issued for the Dzun-Khemchiksky District. There are no North Koreans there. And the Russian name doesn't match the Korean one at all. Full passport pic here:
Well, now, this ain't a passport, this is a military id thing
You're right, that got lost in translation. It's a Russian military ID, not a passport.
I don't see Dzun-khemchiksky there, it says Кызыл there, which is https://maps.app.goo.gl/x12xHeXohw6uCyzSA in both place of birth and issued by
I got them mixed up, Dzun-Khemchiksky was another one (that was also signed in Korean):
Some poor Tuvan conscript catching strays.
Actually I didn't realize they share an 8 mile long border. Russia wraps all the way around to the other side. But these troops are definitely bought.
Looks unclear to me.

A community for your defence shitposting needs
Rules
1. Be nice
Do not make personal attacks against each other, call for violence against anyone, or intentionally antagonize people in the comment sections.
2. Explain incorrect defense articles and takes
If you want to post a non-credible take, it must be from a "credible" source (news article, politician, or military leader) and must have a comment laying out exactly why it's non-credible. Low-hanging fruit such as random Twitter and YouTube comments belong in the Matrix chat.
3. Content must be relevant
Posts must be about military hardware or international security/defense. This is not the page to fawn over Youtube personalities, simp over political leaders, or discuss other areas of international policy.
4. No racism / hatespeech
No slurs. No advocating for the killing of people or insulting them based on physical, religious, or ideological traits.
5. No politics
We don't care if you're Republican, Democrat, Socialist, Stalinist, Baathist, or some other hot mess. Leave it at the door. This applies to comments as well.
6. No seriousposting
We don't want your uncut war footage, fundraisers, credible news articles, or other such things. The world is already serious enough as it is.
7. No classified material
Classified ‘western’ information is off limits regardless of how "open source" and "easy to find" it is.
8. Source artwork
If you use somebody's art in your post or as your post, the OP must provide a direct link to the art's source in the comment section, or a good reason why this was not possible (such as the artist deleting their account). The source should be a place that the artist themselves uploaded the art. A booru is not a source. A watermark is not a source.
9. No low-effort posts
No egregiously low effort posts. E.g. screenshots, recent reposts, simple reaction & template memes, and images with the punchline in the title. Put these in weekly Matrix chat instead.
10. Don't get us banned
No brigading or harassing other communities. Do not post memes with a "haha people that I hate died… haha" punchline or violating the sh.itjust.works rules (below). This includes content illegal in Canada.
11. No misinformation
NCD exists to make fun of misinformation, not to spread it. Make outlandish claims, but if your take doesn’t show signs of satire or exaggeration it will be removed. Misleading content may result in a ban. Regardless of source, don’t post obvious propaganda or fake news. Double-check facts and don't be an idiot.
