Trump and his dipshit crypto bros are planning to steal billions from the U.S. Treasury using an engineered crypto bubble.

I will be so mad if they let a bunch of tech bros jerk each other off with our tax money. Such an obvious grift.

Well get ready to be real mad then, because it's not an "if" it's a "when."

Yep, and nothing will be done about it. Our government has already showed it does not give a fuck.

They don't need anybody's tax money. Taxes are just a punishment for the poor.

They can just continue to print endless petrol-dollars with pictures of slavers. That's the underlying reason why crypto keeps booming.

Not just the Crypto Czar, the "AI & Crypto Czar".

Two bubbles for the price of none (since we all know he never pays his bills).

Obviously this is stupid, but should I invest in one of these cryptos to get ahead of the bubble?

[-] dhork@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago

Yes, that is stupid. Don't put any money in Crypto you can't afford to lose.

If you insist, limit yourself to OG Bitcoin, since that is what they will end up using government money to prop up. Honorable (?) Mention to OG Dogecoin, since as long as Elon is the Prime Minister he will keep memeing it. Avoid everything else, particularly all those tokens riding on Ethereum. (I think Ethereum will be the big loser in all this, which is a shame as it is more useful than Bitcoin, and more energy efficient).

But if you do, don't be surprised if you totally miss where the top is, and ride the BTC price back down to a 80% (or more!) Loss. It has happened before, and will again. Stay away if you don't like that.

It's safer to gamble on a casino economy because a "real" economy doesn't exist.
