My partner is a refugee from her own country. People she knows risk getting kidnapped and disappeared (happened to someone’s brother) in the countries where they relocate. This is for advocating for democracy in their homeland. Tyranny all the way down. Sorta like what the USA is about to have.

The ruling class is highly organized and knows what it is doing. The illusion of disorganization keeps you complacent by encouraging you to fight for one side of the rulers instead of fighting against all of them.

I don’t disagree with you, but I’d argue the ruling class has no allegiance to country. Which is why you see some many of them throw their countrymen under a bus to pull a profit. They’re in their own little world, and we are all their slaves.

I’d say their greatest skill is misdirection.
