i don’t think you’re ever gonna get a majority of owners to approve this. not only would eastern conference teams not want it for obvious reasons, the travel would also hit coastal teams much harder than central/mountain teams.

Per the article, half of Eastern Conference teams would need to sign onto this, which experts don't think will happen any time soon. Given that additions of Las Vegas +1 other team are obviously on the league's horizon, I could see this 1-16 seeding and possibly re-allocating a couple teams to different conferences happening with the expansion to 32 teams

There's too many playoff spots, it should be fewer and based only on elo ranking instead of number of wins, since one division is good and one has 3 good teams and the rest is garbage
