this issue came out of nowhere, the main issue i have is related with "steam" and "..." buttons its where steam thinks im spam clicking/holding them so the menu keeps showing up and sometimes shows the shortcut menu (especially when turned on) and when the "steam" and "..." buttons dont seem to be detected holding/spam clicking it those buttons dont work and trigger random shortcuts (example: shortcut "steam" button + left joystick will force the joystick to change my brightness instead of navigating a ui/moving in a game)

the "steam" and "..." buttons detected spam clicking/holding is not as common as random shortcuts being triggered so i only got a picture of proof that the "steam" button is randomly getting held and the shortcuts menu is showing up This problem is annoying.

I had an issue with these buttons as well, but when I pushed either button, the menu wouldn't open and the cursor would move instead. It turned out to be an issue with Decky Loader. I uninstalled it and the issue stopped. I don't know if Decky could be causing your issue as well, but I wanted to mention it just in case.

Sounds like a stuck button. Personally I would disassembly the device and have a look at the button and surrounding parts for any damage or liquid or debris at all. If there is any physical damage then an RMA or maybe replacement parts can be ordered (like you can buy replacement rubber if that feels worn at all). Otherwise I would ensure everything is clean and free of and liquids, stickiness or debris then reassemble the device. Even if nothing looked wrong I would test it again and see if the act of disassembly did something to solve the issue which it sometimes does for things.

IFixit has guides for the LCD and OLED versions and overall the steam deck is not very hard to disassemble compared to other small electronics. Though if you are unsure about this you may just want to talk to valve support first. If you accidentally damage something that could affect your ability to get an RMA.

I had this issue when I got my wife a "remarkable" tablet. Apparently the early gens were well known for getting the power button stuck and for being glued together and thus to disassemble.

I bought an iFixit kit and got it apart and the power button unstuck, but I never got the tablet back together.

The common suggestion for that particular tablet was to use a Dremel to widen the power button slot and liberate the button.

Just contact support, even if you’re out of warranty. As far as I know, steam support for things like this has been great.

This might seem like a weird fix but if you do happen to take apart the steam deck it can't hurt to clean the stuck button with something like electrical contact cleaner (or 99% isopropyl alcohol), and then dry it with compressed air. That way any dust or debris that might cause a button to stick would be cleared away (hopefully).

I use electric contact cleaner to clean all my controllers when they get sticky buttons or stick drift. You don't even need to disassemble it, just turn off the deck/controller, spray the cleaner in around the button/joystick that's not working right, press the button/move the stick around some, and then wait a couple minutes before turning it back on.

Only important thing to remember is that you need to make sure the contact cleaner you buy is plastic safe, some aren't. I've had really good results with CRC brand QD cleaner, and it's available at a lot of stores.
