Retroarch & syncing? (discuss.tchncs.de)

Hi, I have retroarch on various devices (Linux & android) and want to sync both saves and gaming history across devices.

Currently, I managed to sync saves via Syncthing. History syncing seems more tricky.

Do you have any experience with this? TIA

Could you set something like google drive to sync your save folder automatically?

Syncing the save folder works via various options. Not sure how to sync the history though. I would like to have the "recently played" section also sync and show across devices.

Syncthing is tricky to get working properly all the time + it drains quite a bit of your mobile devices battery life in my experience.

However a co-worker recently shared this interesting FOSS project, EmulatorJS, it's self host-able RetroArch, playable from your browser:

I haven't played around with it myself yet, but it sparked my interest, because it would mean you don't need to sync saves between devices, but still can continue playing from your save from any device which can open a browser.

Noted, sounds like a nice project. I do not need to have syncing a working all the time, hence any delays are not an issue. Usually, I play offline when traveling and sync to other devices when at home. In such cases, I need to manually select the save file, instead of picking up in the “recently played” section.
