oh my god he's so desperate. how do people like him? he's the dumbest, weirdest, fugliest, most rizzless, useless, jobless, maidenless troglodyte to ever walk the earth. literally if only he was not born to beneficiaries of slave labor no one would piss on him if he was on fire. unbelievable.

Who knew immigration could be so complicated!

[-] mercphilby@discuss.online 7 points 4 days ago

Tbf, I think people are actually over complicating it, and that’s why we have so many issues.

[-] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 6 points 4 days ago

Possibly. Im not knowledgeable enough to really know. I was just using Trump's "who knew healthcare was so complicated" quote.

[-] jaybone@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

People do job.

People don’t do job.

Can’t explain that.

[-] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 17 points 4 days ago

Time to backpedal, talk out of both sides of the mouth, and pretending it's all in generic terms, so that he's totally on board with what MAGA wants, just like those good times before the election.

[-] sumguyonline@lemmy.world 15 points 4 days ago

They are still planning to deport all the immigrants, just not the ones taking good paying jobs. Empties trash? Jose is gone, jimmy your up. Wipes down tables at restaurants? Quadalupe you deported we giving this job to Rob. But good paying engineer jobs??? GET ME MY IMMIGRANTS!!!!

[-] nova_ad_vitum@lemmy.ca 11 points 4 days ago

Crucially they will want to make it as easy as possible to deport even H1B holders , so that their employers can wield even more power over them. That will make them even more desirable as workers over Americans.

[-] plz1@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

Well yea, why pay an American $200K/year at your San Francisco when you can import 2 H1B's for the same price working remotely from your "St. Louis, remote" office?

/s, in case that isn't obvious.

[-] bitchkat@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

My former employer doesn't bother with H1-B. They just have them work via remote desktop from India and claim that all software is developed in the USA.

[-] plz1@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

Yeah there's that, too. I work in the US for a company that won't let me hire anyone that isn't in India.

[-] WaxiestSteam69@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

I never bought into the Elon hype. I just don't get it.

[-] nutsack@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

there's nothing in it really

[-] d00phy@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Well look who underestimated the gullibility of the mob!

Or…

Well look who shocked the people who didn’t vote for Trump by how dumb they’re not!

Ofc they’re gonna do all this shit anyway, b/c the King don’t care what the poors want.

[-] mercphilby@discuss.online 6 points 4 days ago

Musk just needs someone to take a shot at him and maybe he will snap out of his “this is a simulation” bullshit and come back to earth.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago

It's way too late for that. True Believers like Musk don't just think it's a simulation, they think they're the main thing being simulated and the rest of us are NPCs, which is why it's just fine to treat us all like dogshit. If he survived an assassination attempt, that would only prove it to him.
