honestly it feels embarrassing considering this creepy
But like going from a densely populated gmod server to one full of buildings and 0 people is creepier than words, going from being in the brightly lit grocery store for 6 hours, clocking out, giving your goodbyes right in front of the exit then taking literally 3 steps and seeing this is so much more surreal than I can show in words, or even this image.

Here's the uncropped (and sltely crooked) version

Nothing embarrassing about it. It is creepy. Fog like that creates an unusually tangible limit to our view.

I drove home last night around midnight in super thick fog going through a few cities on the way, and I really enjoyed it.

There wasn’t a lot of traffic, but the fog did reduce the spikiness and glare of headlights (very soothing filter), acted as an IRL Adblock because it was hard to read billboards without trying, and the diffusion of overhead and tail lights highlighted the actual road making it easier to see the road far ahead.

It’s a lot weirder walking through it as it swirls around you though. When I was stationed in Monterrey ca, the fog would roll in down the steep sloping roads, it was super surreal, it would follow after you if you were headed down into town.

I absolutely love this type of place. I used to walk for an hour or two each night when I lived in populated areas and passing through closed supermarkets and airports in the fog was always one of my favourite times.

There's just something about these places that were filled with busy just a bit ago now completely serene. Still.

That and parks are a strange but beautiful time

So I was walking out from a closing shift in the big box store deli department, and asked if they washed the parking lot because the ground was wet.

It rained, and I was so enclosed that I couldn't hear it

This is a wonderful capture, rife with story-telling opportunity via framing. The off-kilter original is a very fortunate opportunity to find new ideas in the image.

I've been playing with it for only an hour or so, and there are so many different narratives this image can convey from how its contents are composed.

This looks a little bit like the parking lot in the severance.
