Which gadget makes your life better?

For me, it's a bidet toilet seat. I bought one that didn't really fit as well as I hoped, so now I am shopping for a v2 based on experience. I don't want to live without one going forward. That's for sure.

Smart vacuum cleaner. You buy it once and never have to vacuum again.

You don't need a fancy vacuum to never vacuum again. We have a cheap one and never vacuum either.

While true, smart ones add even more convenience. Scheduling, room selection, object avoidance, etc.

A multitool or swiss army knife: I recommend a Leatherman or Victorinox fit to whatever your daily needs are.

Personally, I swear by my Leatherman Skeletool CX in my pocket and a Victorinox Midnight Manager on my keychain.

My Victorinox SAK (model Tinker Deluxe) it just comes in handy so often and I'm glad I've got it around.

My Aeropress. Great quality, espresso-adjacent coffee quickly and easily in the morning.

Laser thermometer. I learned a lot about better temperatures at which to cook things and now get more repeatable results when cooking.

Kitchen scale. Recipes are easier to prepare when weighing ingredients as opposed to using measuring spoons and cups.

Both make food a better experience, which leads to more satisfactory meals and eating less overall.

A laser isn't going to get you an accurate reading of what the inside of the meat is: Get yourself a meat thermometer instead.

Do you have a meat thermometer?

[-] Shadow@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah a laser is not that great, an instant read probe is what he needs.

I love my thermapen

Dry herb vape: I mainly use it with cannabis and for me it gives clearer effects, better taste, use wayy less material (I can use 0.05-0.1g per bowl, which is enough for me for a whole night), more control of the high when wanted (different temperatures gives different results basically). More easy and discrete to operate on the go, and not bond to smoke a whole j if I decide to get high (last two depends on the device though) and also gave me a fun hobby.

If you want to buy one, fell free to ask for advice at !vaporents@lemmy.beyondcombustion.net and be aware as some devices at regular shops are health hazard (looking at you, Gpen)
