Is indeed a know bug. The Lemmy dev's are working on a solution.
There are some known bugs around comment counts handling deleted and edited comments. The counts aren't exact right now, nothing you can do though.
Thank you for clarifying that, wasnt expecting to able to do anything about it, just hoping for an explanation which have now provided, much appreciated!
I've also noticed this rather frequently. I kind of assumed the comment count was wrong, but maybe there is some hidden comments from a federation bug.
