Your last sentence is the answer. Your driving manual probably says “drivers must yield to other vehicles occupying a lane”, which in your example would be a UFO.

Planned obsolescence hidden behind a “feature”.

In ten years, when they want to pull the plug on this game, they will cite dwindling users and “exorbitant” per-user maintenance costs.

They don’t want playable legacies. They want something they can leverage for nostalgia marketing in 20 years, and if you break out the original game, they won’t make any money. Production companies want you to buy what they are offering today, because it pays for new yachts.

The very first video on YouTube was 19 seconds.

Then videos got so long they created shorts.

Now shorts are longer than the first YouTube video.

We’ve come full circle.

A three minute short is not a short, it is a video lol

It can be tiring, what with the constant coming and going of souls next door, but it’s worth being the neighbor of the beast.

You know the pop culture reference we use for someone who has misplaced their cellphone, "have you tried calling it?"

This will sound absolutely silly, but one day a friend was looking for some trinket which wasn't a phone, and playfully I asked, "Have you tried calling it?"

They doubled down and started actually calling it, "Trinket.... trinket, where are you?"

And wouldn't you know it, within minutes they found it, and so far this has worked about 99.9% of the time.

So like using a flashlight focuses your eyes, having someone call it out loud kind of quiets the mind, too. It's wild.

Art of Reverse Scraping. Now the previous commenter will get at least a couple known good Signal handles to spam for a little.

The intent is for it to completely disintegrate by the time you need to claim benefits and can’t remember your SSN.

j/k, the completely disintegrating part is true, the last part is that there won’t be any SSN benefits by the time Gen Y and later gets around to retiring.

If I understand what I’ve read, you may be interested in a SIP software called asterisk. It may do what you’re looking for.

I really enjoy the variety and diversity of federation. There are subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) differences each instance brings. It’s refreshing.
