My towns local realtor group (there's only like three total) bought a dying motel and converted the rooms into the absolute shittiest "studio apartments" with like a hot plate and a mini fridge.
It's nearly September and my native prairie still has flowers.
If you look at things closely they look different than they do far away.

In my little rural town there were so many people who lost their license that they had to go and privatize all the roads so people could drive their ATVs to the liquor store and drop their kids off at school.

The 18 months I was commuting/driving through NoVA/DC (lived too far to feasibly take train) were literally the worst in my life.
