I got answers and engagement from communities that seemed dead on Lemmy due to lack of users. You should just try to ask your questions... One answer that truly helps is already enough usually, you don't actually need 100 users upvoting the same answer or 12 different answers where only 1 is good. For many things, low engagement is already sufficient.

Defense lawyers are supposed to try everything they can to defend their client, no matter how little sense it makes. It is theoretically possible for an admission of guilt to be false.

It's up to the judge to understand their arguments are worthless and rule accordingly.

That's how this is supposed to work.

If you're like me, the literal only people that will tell you that you need a degree are your parents.

I also studied for 4 years and was still in the first semester at the end of it. I just stopped trying. Now I'm a self-taught programmer.

I can tell you with my whole heart: "success" is completely and utterly irrelevant. If you have enough to live, you have already "won". Most other people would disagree with this. But there's so much free or almost free stuff to do that you can literally fill your whole life with it and never run out. Everything else is, even though it's very clichéd, a mindset issue. It is possible to be happy with very very little.

I don't know anything about your life, but if I have one advice it is this: figure out which of your beliefs come from within you or come from other people. Do you actually believe a degree is necessary? Or have other people instilled in you the sense that a degree is necessary? Is earning lots of money actually important? Or is that just what other people think is important and you copied?

Also get therapy help if you can.

Diversify your investments is literally the first thing anybody learns about investment.

Also, let me cry for those poor rich people with still 3 houses left, they're going to end in poverty if it's worth less!

I'm sorry, but distinguishing between different concepts is forbidden here. You go straight to jail.

No you misunderstood, when you bought your Switch you didn't buy the hardware and the software on it, you only bought the right to use the hardware and software. It still belongs to Nintendo, and you better watch out you do nothing bad with it!

Blablabla tldr - less money/profits in the gaming industry.

Everything is terrible and troubled now of course. Because without growth, what even is there?

There's an addon for Firefox to disable CORS for certain sites. Need to use that.

How exactly "can" they? They've been trying pretty hard for quite a long while now and nothing has ever worked. It's also pretty logical why they can't: they don't control your device, you can do anything with it. Whatever they implement, you can always fake being a normal user. Which is exactly why no one using Firefox + uBlock sees anything of what's mentioned in this article (as long as no other addons/settings trigger the adblock detection).

Only the environment they do control is affected, which is essentially like "controlling your device": Chrome.

Doesn't work, the job I'd prefer would be no job.

Or idk, professional with-friends-chiller, or people-get-to-knower, or world-seer, or randomly-on-piano-player, or casual-video-games-player.

It will continue to be so weird for me to go from no ads to ads (or paying a subscription) just because you like the interface a bit more. All the free UIs already available seem perfectly usable and roughly equivalent in convenience.
