Apparently the same clause is in the Disney account terms used to buy the tickets to the park

Disney adds that Mr Piccolo accepted these terms again when using his Disney account to buy tickets for the theme park in 2023.

Which would hold more water than the clause in the Disney+ terms (that articles on the subject focus on way too much just for clickbait)

Jibreel Tramboo, barrister at Church Court Chambers, says the terms in the Disney+ trial are a "weak argument for Disney to rely on".

However, he says, the clause in the ticket purchase from 2023 may be a stronger case, "as there is a similar arbitration clause".

But anyway, it's really insensitive from Disney to try to arbitrate such a tragic incident.

Carbon-negative is a long stretch, it's just using waste material that is usually used as fuel. It's at best low-carbon compared to concrete, which honestly is already a good thing.

At around the same time, Meyer learned about the large amount of waste lignin that is produced every year, primarily from pulp and paper processes, which is also expected to be produced from biorefineries in the future.

[...] During the production of pulp and paper products, roughly 100 million tons of lignin are produced annually as a waste byproduct and subsequently burned as low-value fuel.

Meyer saw lignin as a polymer that could be used as a material instead of a fuel and sought to crosslink it like an epoxy resin. Using lignin allowed Meyer to sequester CO2 captured from the air in the form of biomass that would otherwise be burned.

Famin confirmed that a proposal has been issued to the staff representative at Viry-Chatillon with the intention of reassigning the staff to developing new technology more relevant for the Renault Group as a whole, meaning the withdrawal of Renault as a power unit manufacturer from F1.

[...]

While confirming that Alpine is seeking to participate in F1 with a new power unit supply deal as a customer team, Famin stopped short of confirming whether or not discussions with Mercedes are taking place at this point, but did state the intention is to only make the change for the 2026 season – the beginning of the new power unit regulations – and not 2025, as has been rumoured.

[...]

“Of course, we are talking to different manufacturers and, for the time being, nothing is done because it’s a project… we have to follow in France, with unions, we have a social process which is very strict to follow.

“We cannot take any decision until we reach the end of that process. But, for the time being, we are talking to some PU manufacturers but we cannot sign anything until this process is over.”

It's Isack Hadjar. He also mentions Arvid Lindblad but not Liam Lawson?

This is a screenshot from F1TV's Tech Talk, I believe this is the best size comparison I have seen since the reveal last Thursday.

Sources say that the decision to part ways with Ocon was not a response to the Monaco clash as his future has been under discussion for a while, however naturally, such an incident did not help.

Hello,

I would like to test websites against old versions of WebKit (the engine powering Epiphany and Safari) and the obvious way to do it without needing a SaaS solution like Browserstack would be to install old versions of Epiphany.

My first idea was to look at Snap and Flapak (as that would prevent issues with mismatched dependencies) but neither offer any version other than the latest.

Does anybody have an idea?

It looks like the pictures went through a background removal tool then the resulting pictures were pasted on top of a wood texture, with no regards to the original pictures' orientation.

That would explain why in some pictures the article seems to be cut in half as well as the confusing perspective on most pictures.

A millionth percent. People are not remotely aware of the whole Manifest v3 drama and will either not care for the degraded experience or put the blame on extensions developers.

Is it just me or this article is riddled with typos and gramatical errors?

  • IBM is registered as a sales company in Brazil, making its employees ineligible for benefits granted to tech workers.
  • Workers in the state of Minas Gerais won a lawsuit against the company to be recognized as IT employees.
  • Galvanized by the successful lawsuit, workers in another state are following suit, opening the possibility for a flood of legal action against IBM.

Yes, you need a passkey per service, so you would quickly end up with your 25 slots full.

[-] BlackEco@lemmy.blackeco.com 36 points 6 months ago

The issue is that most of them are limited in the amount of passkeys they can manage.

In the case of the Yubikey 5

Currently, YubiKeys can store a maximum of 25 passkeys.

As an instance admin, I would prefer not to have users uploads videos or GIFs on Lemmy.

Why? Because Lemmy instances make a local copy of media hosted on other instances. Right now, without any cleaning, my instance has been accumulating 18GB of pictures since July. Imagine how much more that would be if videos were in the mix.

[-] BlackEco@lemmy.blackeco.com 37 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Each Lemmy instance keeps a copy of posts and contents made in communities followed by its users, so even though an instance is decommissioned, the content lives on on other instance.

For example my instance was off for a month (I was moving out, setting up my NAS was my last priority) and during this time my posts and comments were still available on other instances.

As for users unable to login on decommissioned instances, unfortunately all they can do is create an account on another instance.

DMs on the fediverse (and Lemmy) are posts with a specific visibility that marks them as DMs. They are sent like any other posts, so there's no encryption and instance admins could in theory read them in the database.
