Fuck Joanne, that asshole has been lawyer bullying UK citizens critical of her transphobia for years and I’m glad to see someone finally slap her ass with a lawsuit. I hope she gets taken to the cleaners.

Having paid time off on paper doesn’t mean you have it in practice, as anyone who’s worked food service can tell you. Blaming the guy who had to stay in a low wage job for decades for his kids’ health insurance instead of the corporation that fosters an environment where people are discouraged from or punished for calling out is missing the forest for the trees.

If you let your cat outside in the Americas (or anywhere cats haven’t lived for thousands of years) unsupervised I’m going to assume one of the following is true: you don’t care if your cat dies, and/or you don’t care about wildlife. Even if you live in a place with zero predators, why the hell are you trusting a CAT with road safety?

Saying this as someone who grew up with parents that let our cats live (and die, a lot) that way. And as someone who has seen two friends lose cats to coyotes in the past year. And also interrupted an attack on someone’s pet by a coyote. It’s been a bad fucking year here for coyotes.

Sticker Mule’s CEO is a Trump donor and generally known for deceptive marketing tactics, doesn’t shock me that the company is trying to drive traffic to Twitter.

By law anyone who makes a political donation of $200 or more has that contribution as part of the public record, which includes the donor’s town and zip code.

Guess who has contributed more than $200.

Guess who has given over $20k to Josh Hawley since 2020!

Public fucking record, Harrison!

Disagree. Mom may be awkward or slightly ignorant, but telling your child that you accept them if they’re gay and presumably worried about mentioning their dating life to you is basically the opposite of toxic.

They probably would have been fine regardless of Amazon if they hadn’t been run into the ground by a libertarian econ major.

In 2008, Sears CEO Eddie Lampert decided to restructure the company according to Rand’s principles.

Lampert broke the company into more than 30 individual units, each with its own management and each measured separately for profit and loss. The idea was to promote competition among the units, which Lampert assumed would lead to higher profits. Instead, this is what happened, as described by Mina Kimes, a reporter for Bloomberg Business:

An outspoken advocate of free-market economics and fan of the novelist Ayn Rand, he created the model because he expected the invisible hand of the market to drive better results. If the company’s leaders were told to act selfishly, he argued, they would run their divisions in a rational manner, boosting overall performance.

Instead, the divisions turned against each other — and Sears and Kmart, the overarching brands, suffered. Interviews with more than 40 former executives, many of whom sat at the highest levels of the company, paint a picture of a business that’s ravaged by infighting as its divisions battle over fewer resources.

A close-up of the debacle was described by Lynn Stuart Parramore in a Salon article from 2013:

It got crazy. Executives started undermining other units because they knew their bonuses were tied to individual unit performance. They began to focus solely on the economic performance of their unit at the expense of the overall Sears brand. One unit, Kenmore, started selling the products of other companies and placed them more prominently than Sears’ own products. Units competed for ad space in Sears’ circulars…Units were no longer incentivized to make sacrifices, like offering discounts, to get shoppers into the store.

Still learning Spanish but I believe this is correct, because you can insert a question mark into the middle of a sentence as well if the entire sentence isn’t a question.

Ex:

I have fish, do you want to cook it?

Tengo pescado, ¿quieres cocinarlo?

Health wise they’re the same thing. Flavor wise Sugar in the Raw (turbinado sugar) has a little bit of molasses in it so the flavor is slightly different. I think using it in coffee and tea is a waste personally, but it’s very good on top of baked goods.

Did you not know your gender in 3rd grade? Some trans kids do too, especially now that there’s more awareness.

8 years old is also an extremely low stakes age to be trans, because it’s literally just clothes, name/pronouns, and haircut differences at that age.

I’m from a time on the internet when a sizable forum had a few thousand people registered and a few hundred active users. For people who want a 1:1 replacement for high volume, endless scrolling social media I guess any decline is bad. But frankly I am extremely “retvrn” about the pace and size of the old internet, so I’d still be happy with even fewer users, lol.

It knows only that it needs, Commander. But, like so many of us... it does not know what.
