Thank you, some of the most toxic content in the fediverse comes from there and am happy that this server’s experience will be better now.

Hamas is evil, they’re a literal terrorist organization that uses fear and violence as their primary tools and methods. The situation Hamas operates in is absolutely nuanced but saying a terrorist organization is evil and supporting a terrorist organization makes you complicit in supporting evil is not an indicator of a simplistic world view, it’s stating an objective fact. If anything you’re the one expressing a simplistic worldview by ignoring the obvious truths of the situation and its various pieces in favor of obfuscating the parts of the situation that are self evident and clear.

Hamas is evil and anyone on here supporting them are complicit in supporting evil.

I swear the most annoying part of lemmy are the people who think all open source options are better than all closed source.

Cuz we’re on an anonymous forum basically?

There’s not really an algorithm. All the feed filters in voyager are time and traction based as far as I’m aware. Part of having social media that isn’t primarily designed to influence our thinking in order to buy things or generally encourage you to spend all your time on it means we have to sacrifice having content served up to us based on our viewing habits (I.e. intrusive profile models based on personal data). This means lemmy feeds will sometimes have odd mixes of content because you’re just seeing things in mostly chronological order. Mostly is italicized because there’s some traction based filters but that’s irrespective of the type of content.

Maybe memmy has introduced its own algo? Would be curious if anyone that knows for certain could comment.

The people that use it this way ruin it for everyone else.

Ahh yes, Memento and Mulholland Drive are insulting and total shit because they’re American lol.

I get what you’re trying to say but conflating every American movie with what succeeds at the box office is probably keeping you from experiencing and enjoying a wide assortment of amazing movies.

I didn’t even know I wanted this but now that I’m aware I can’t wait.

That article you shared is literally an opinion piece that even says the actor hasn’t specifically made antivax statements. It’s written by someone trying to infer the actors opinions without any verification. That’s not a reputable source. Also, we’re knocking people for twitter follows now? That could be something Levi looks at, it could be a random account added by a social media team, it could be any number of things.

You use the word “actively sides” - that’s objectively not true based on these sources. I’m all for holding people accountable but come on, this is just attacking the guy and using baseless accusations to merit it. Do you have any verifiable or reputable sources that prove this guy is a hateful bigot? If he is, so be it, but what you shared doesn’t support that notion in any fair sense.

Edit: based on some of the responses I’m seeing I’m gonna leave this thread alone. There are so many inferences, allusions, speculations, disreputable sources and “guilty by association” reasons being used to hate on this person that it’ll probably start an all day argument. To those who responded, thanks, just not how I wanna spend my time today.
