My gran once gave me a toilet brush. The base had penguins floating in blue liquid, but it was ultimately just a cheap toilet brush.

I gave her a beautiful marble maze.

I didn’t bother after that.

$28bn is A Lot Of Fucking Money, my dude. Like…a lot.

At a rate of $20 an hour, it would take a person almost 160,000 years to earn that kind of money.

I'm a 44 year old (mostly) straight guy who's at a point where I don't really know why any of that stuff really matters to people.

I was a teenager in Britain in the '90s when it was ridiculously common to refer to something bad as "gay". So I grew up not homophobic as such, but having definitely equated being gay with negative connotations. But some 15 years ago I started to question my own attitudes, and, helped by a woman I was seeing at the time, I explored the idea of playing gay. I didn't actually do anything, but she thought the idea was as hot as hell.

Fast forward to now, where I'm married to a different woman who also thinks that guys fucking is hot, and so do I. So it's something that's become an occasional part of our sex life, and it's great.

Now, I'm not necessarily answering your question, because sex ≠ emotions. To me sex and emotions aren't really linked. One is something to be enjoyed, and the other is something to be shared with an intimate partner. But the point is, if you're a naturally open-minded person then your baseline for who and what you are will be constantly subject to change.

Are you straight? Are you gay? Are you bi? Are you any of these things? Does it really matter?

As to your point about being attracted to femininity: I definitely get that. Regardless of how someone identifies, if they're feminine I've got a soft spot for them.

If I didn’t already think that Musk is a fucking shithead, him stanning for Tommy fucking Robinson would have sealed it.

Tommy Fucking Robinson (or Stephen Yaxley-Fucking-Lennon to give him his actual name) is the worst. A racist thug through and through, who, by being banged up, is in the right place.

The very, VERY WORST thing about macOS Sequoia is how cunty they’ve become over software downloaded from the internet.

Downloaded an update for Freetube yesterday. Dragged it into the Apps folder, tried to open it.

“Nah bruv. Put it in the bin” said macOS. No other options. Ignore, or trash it.

I’m a canny user, so I know that I now have to open the Security settings and click a button to say I’m happy to use the app.

Return to the app to open it.

“Nah bruv. Put it in the bin. Or open it if you’re stupid. Whatever”

Only then will it open.

Some software, usually stuff downloaded from GitHub, requires me to run a command in Terminal before it’ll run. Tried to install Librewolf via Brew the other day, and had to use Terminal to remove and replace the signature because Finder couldn’t even recognise it as a usable app.

Stupid shit.

90 seconds ago I had never heard of this man, now I discover that he's notable enough that he has a Wikipedia page.

Mine is modest; but practice being mindful of your emotional reactions.

If something upsets you, interrogate why, and whether your reaction will help. 90% of the time it won’t, so learn to appreciate that you are upset, but don’t let it control you. Because if you don’t you’re going to start seeing the world through incredibly negative eyes.

For example, I used to be a nightmare behind the wheel, always getting angry with shitty drivers and red lights. But I began trying to catch those thoughts, and asked myself whether they would stop other drivers being shitty, or whether it would stop me getting caught at red lights. Would I still be angry in ten minutes? The answer is almost always no, so to expend that energy feels like a waste of time to me now.

Sure, I still get pissy, but I don’t sit with it for longer than I need to. You wouldn’t sit in acid, so why sit in anger?

I think they've hit a point where they're doing more for shareholder value than for customers.

They're so scared of iPad chewing into Mac sales that they've hobbled iPadOS, leaving it just useful enough to encourage people to buy both. They're continuing to offer base 8gb RAM, despite it costing them pennies to increase that to 16gb, because they like the money they make from charging for upgrades.

They're one of the world's most valuable companies, and they've got there by shortchanging customers as much as possible over the past 15 years.

In many ways, I have no problem with what they charge for their devices. What they make is (generally) very high quality and can last for a long, long time. The likes of Amazon and AliExpress have given us a false sense of how expensive things should be.

But I do have a problem with feeling like I'm not getting the most from my purchase.

Like, I have a 6th gen iPad mini. It's a great little device. But I can't help thinking how much more useful it could be if Apple had allowed Stage Manager and external display support on it. But why would they when a 256gb version of it puts it on par with a Mac mini. For the majority of what I do, I could be happy with my iPad hooked up to a display, with the ability to side load apps, a la macOS, and the ability to be portable. But Apple don't want people buying the cheapest they can work with when they can charge twice for both a Mac and and iPad. So they've intentionally hobbled the iPad.

And that's a problem for me.

Firefox Marketshare nosedives

That can’t be true, literally everyone on the Fediverse uses Firefox.

Slightly on topic, but yesterday I discovered that I'm the same age as Rishi Sunak, and it's fucking with my brain that I'm the same age as the Prime Minister. Something about that just ain't right.
