I probably should do my due diligence and check to see if that's true.

But at this point I should just accept that his remarks about walking into the dressing room at Miss Teen USA were enough, and more is just overegging the pudding

The movie actually decreased Batman's coolness level.

In the original 'Flashpoint' comic young Bruce Wayne was the one killed in the alley that night. His father Thomas, a noted surgeon, decided to become the Caped Crusader. Mrs. Wayne lost her mind and became the Joker. Thomas didn't have years to train, so he used a dangerous, addictive version of the super soldier serum he got from a disgraced hero named Hour Man [because he was only strong for an hour][ yes, it's really stupid to let your enemies know your biggest weakness, but c'mon, it was created in the 1940s and the guy was an addict...]

In the comics, Batman was much more violent than we are used to.

Think Trump wouldn't deputize a few million Red Hats?

It's a lot easier to mess things up than it is to fix them after they are broken.

I think we should all take a moment to that the GOP for making sure that, in the future, all third graders will be taught about Monica's stained dress and Cadet Bonespurs' magic mushroom

Yeah, a factory worker would get $5 and pay back $6 the next week. That was a terrible crime. Then Reagan deregulated the banks and it became business as usual.

Sounds like 'pay day loans' in the US.

Back in the day, a loan shark was a criminal who charged an outrageous 20% interest for money. Working class folks were at the mercy of these "six-for-fivers."

Ronald Reagan became President and now established banks could charge 35% or more.

A quote form Occupied Paris, circa 1943.

"It isn't the big Hitler in Paris that makes life unbearable; it's the million little Hitlers living in Paris."

The Republicans voted for a dead brothel owner.

Trump is still technically alive

[off topic]

"High Crimes" is a novel about a disgraced Olympian who gets a job as a corpse retriever on Mt. Everest. The families of dead climbers pay her to find and bring back the frozen bodies of their relatives.

The point I've made repeatedly is that if you want to stop immigration, it's much simpler and far cheaper to go after the big companies that hire them. Arrest and throw some American business people in jail and the rest will stop hiring.

For some reason, that doesn't seem to get a lot of play in GOP circles.

I'm a lifelong fan of political dramas. I watched the BBC version of House of Cards and adored The Manchurian Candidate.

There's stuff going on in this election that makes everything I ever read seem placid and tame.
