I feel like internet users have become so lazy, stubborn, and resistant to change. I'm pretty sure it used to be easier to get people to move to new things like new forums, Xfire, Ventrillo, IRC, ICQ, AIM... people used to try new things

Like, not being able to search for specific issues, people, or any other topic already posted even within your own instance is my biggest issue with Lemmy not being a sufficient replacement.

The search page does allow all of this.

/search

You can filter by type (post, user, community, etc), Local/All/Subscribed, searching within a community, choosing a sort option or restricting to past year/month/week.... I think it's much better than Reddit's search.

Technical perspective first...

This is Unreal Engine 1, which used UnrealScript programming language. It was extremely flexible, and you can extract the original UnrealScript code (including comments) from the game. This means it's nearly an open source game, except for the native code. But pretty much everything is controlled by the UnrealScript anyways. Including the GUIs, HUDs, conversations, most of the AI stuff, damage calculations, keyboard key bindings, etc.

On top of this, Deus Ex released their SDK tools (I think in 2001, around the time of the multiplayer patch). Which is their version of the UnrealEd map editor, conversation file editor, and UnrealScript compiler/extractor.

just a guess, but looks like it's listing every upvote as a reblog by the community?

the list could combine all the reblogs by the same user into a single line, no need to show multiple I think

my bug report was closed but I'm still seeing the issue on voyager.lemmy.ml even after it was updated to rc.5

https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/issues/2215#event-10991644637

maybe someone else here can confirm my findings?

I feel like moderation could be an issue though, since Mastodon is only moderated by the instance admins.

If there was a Nostr for Reddit/Lemmy style communication, it could be possible for the communities to have moderators, so that could be good.

It's cool for small and easily testable functions like sorting, but to refactor large amounts of code? No thanks. Would be great if it could leave comments on my pull request though.

Maybe it's not as good a match for PC gamer demographics as their other games?
