We’ve poisoned our planet for the last 100+ years and now we are dying off slowly from the fruits of our labor.

The irony.

They just need someone with a unique yet zany mustache to step forward as leader now.

Am in NC but have family right over the state line in TN. Can tell you they got it as bad if not worse in places. Where the Nolichuckey winds through some of the mountain counties there are areas where all the bridges/roads in those counties are completely washed out. The water isn’t receding fast enough either.

We’ve been in continual contact with friends who are completely stranded. No way in to the area and no drinkable water.

The news is not covering it and what they are is making it sound like there are only a handful of deaths when in reality there are probably dozens of people (or more) missing.

Am afraid this is going to just all get brushed aside for some other ‘News blip’ come next week.

Being a kid of the 80s and living on the tail end of the Cold War this is just so weird.

The Republicans then, under Reagan, really viewed the Russians with disdain. We were constantly told - both by them, school, and the media, how Russia and Communism was the greatest evil on this planet.

Now all I see every time I turn on the news is some shadow of a Republican, gargling the balls of a Russian leader or representative.

It’s WEIRD I tell you, it’s like that movie The Manchurian Candidate is playing out only they’ve replaced the whole party.

Taking lessons from Elon.

Maybe they need to charge users a monthly fee and add blue check marks. Lol

A quick Google search on the AG fighting Dunn’s release gives more light to this case.

It turns out Andrew Bailey is in fact a total cockbag, not a partial cockbag but complete and total one. A line from his Wiki:

During his tenure as attorney general, Bailey has adopted hardline conservative positions. He has refused to release prisoners after overturned convictions, attempted unsuccessfully to restrict gender-affirming care, battled initiatives to restore access to abortion in Missouri, and staunchly defended former President Donald Trump over his legal problems.

He appears to just take any hardline right, douchebag, position he can and then almost troll with it.

It’s amazing how the US has allowed so many of these assholes to get into power.

Headline should read:

‘Cops upset they have to pay to jerk it like everyone else.’

Hello all - new Steamdeck owner here. I also own a PS5 and had been wanting to stream to my deck.

I learned about Chiaki4deck and did the install this weekend and was up and running playing games within a few minutes. However, I am still having a few issues getting the Touchpad on my PS5 controller to work right.

The controller works fine with that one exception.

I have a few games that really utilize the pad - is there something that can be done on the Deck side help with compatibility?

Edit: just resolved the issue thanks to @PlasticExistence@lemmy.world: the firmware on the controller I was trying to use had not been updated. Once I did the issue resolved itself.

Thanks all for the suggestions and help

Anyone that thinks this wasn’t intentional is a fool. They are just testing the waters.

Bad feedback? Then shelve it and try it again in a couple years. Regardless, Pandora’s box as been opened and all the other game companies now will be eyeing this new ‘feature’ for future implementation real soon.

Well I for one am glad this came out.

This cleared up any doubts I had in my mind when it came for voting for this guy for president. Yessiree, I absolutely am not gonna vote for Hunter Biden in 2024.

Was hired at a company as a designer. Went to the production meeting and sat down beside another designer (introduced myself and we started chatting). In comes everyone else and sits down. We all start chatting and do introductions.

Five minutes into the meeting the company owner comes in, chatting with a salesman. He glances around the room, then his face freezes on me - he then looks at the guy beside me and keeps looking back and forth. He finally motions for me to come outside the conference room. I walk out and he asks me what I was doing there. I tell him ‘remember, you hired me and my start day was today??’

He turned pale and just said ‘oh yeah I forgot’. He let me go back in the room but then I heard him call the guy beside me out.

The guy never came back. Apparently he had intended on firing him and forgot.

Needless to say I didn’t stay long before I found another job. The place was complete chaos.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them, got one, etc.

I had been eyeing the Revopoint brand but keep hesitating on buying. I don’t know anyone that has one and really would like to get more feedback. The Amazon reviews seem decent enough.

I am looking for something that can scan objects about hand size or larger and that I can walk around the object scanning. I don’t want to be limited to sticking the object on a scanning mat or turntable. I’m not going to be scanning minis (eg Warhammer). I do use the iOS and OSX platforms.

Mod tools question (lemmy.world)

Good day all. Am a fairly new user and was wondering if there is one of the mobile apps that has mod tools added to it yet? Thanks in advance.

So am looking for some suggestions to try. I am printing on an Ender 3 with a MS direct drive setup.

I am using Amolen wood filament and switched the nozzle to a .8

I did test prints for everything I could think: retraction, speed, temperature, etc and picked the ones that looked the smoothest of each.

I did the PID tuning as well on the nozzle.

However, I have never printed with a nozzle this size. I tried with this filament and .4 and got non stop clogging. Some reading online lead me to think that maybe it needed to be larger since it seemed to flow so easily.

Well I got it flowing great but the tops or where the layers change look a litttle rough as you can see. I don’t know if this is something I missed in my settings or if this is due to the size of the nozzle and wanted to get some input.

The sidewalks are perfectly smooth - if that makes any difference.
