Signal is building straight alternative to WhatsApp. And it is very good because everyone who uses it can easily switch to Signal, without complications. Federation adds many new concepts (problems) for normal human, more latency and makes development way slower which is also very bad for mass adoption. And they are against only of 3rd party clients which use Signal in name. Molly exists, f.e. So Signal rocks ๐ค๐
A lot of people have a lot more problems with it than I do. I guess I'm lucky. And I'm very happy about that. I like Signal, the way it works, looks, etc. People like it too, by the way. Especially the sound quality when talking. Compared to Telegram, it's heaven and earth.
such a discord
Notesnook looks really promising!
Go look at SimpleX Chat. Decentralized, no identificators, very privacy focused.
Your main concern I believe is to move your relatives/friends there. And for work, communication with strangers you can use your usual messengers. This way you don't lose opportunities in your career, but you protect the most sensitive information. You can tell your relatives/friends that you will not talk to them on the phone in other messengers. It is also an effective tactic.
Yup. Brave and Firefox are basically the best options out there. Big tech is very happy when privacy people are shitting about choice.
My opinion. I can't trust any government on this planet anymore. So much fuck ups and stupid decisions. So basically every government is kinda authoritarian for me...
God bless Firefox. Definitely. I use Brave as a second browser sometimes. But my main browser is Firefox (Fennec) with uBlock Origin and Skip Redirect.
I understand the developer, but the complete lack of communication with the community is appalling. and even the subsequent app updates to ad-supported/tracker-packed versions is just disgusting. i understand why tibbi burned out, but the sale process was handled in extremely poor way
