I would not say a better approach, but it is a workable one. We have one already and will be getting a second one in the next few months. Our next new car will be an all electric, but that is a few years down the road.

They are only disposable to those that don't take average care of their cars. My parents Sonata is at 235k and it will soon become my kid's car. Runs fine with no issues because my parents take care and of their cars.

My 2008 Prius has ticked over 200k with the original battery pack. Sure it's only a hybrid instead of a full on EV, but it's going strong.

My longest lived ICE car was my Delta 88. 261k before the second shitty GM transmission gave out. The first one died at 180k and was slippy from 120k.

I tumbled across Zettlr when I was looking at maybe replacing Zim for my homebrew TTRPG games at the table. I use DokuWiki online. I ran my Star Wars game through it. Pretty impressive.

It absolutely was used to refer to development disabilities in the US during the 80s - as well as anyone acting like they were disabled.

Fellow Digg exile, previous Fark, previous Slashdot, etc.

I still go back to Reddit for several niche groups that just don't have enough users to transition - would likely disappear if people moved elsewhere (Lemmy or Discord)

My system output Nolan mumble speech just as good as the theater. Plus no assholes on their phones, my seats are comfy, the snacks reasonably priced, and I can pause it whenever I want for whatever reason.

Going to the movies is a concept that should just quietly go into the night.

Hardly. As with most things it depends on location, but in the case of casting such a wide net as "programming jobs" it also depends on what you want to do. While it can be said that "Nobody goes into programming wanting to code Excel" but there are still plenty of just bs open to do stuff like that. You could make a solid life programming just MS Dynamics or Epicor.
