Don't be mad when opinion articles express peoples opinions. All the other shown articles are a decade old and/or opinion articles. There is room to complain, so why not do it accurately?

Do you like not read the news ever?

[-] Godric@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Yeah, I know the word, just I've only ever heard it used by smug assholes with "guess what I almost said" expressions on their faces.

Weaker than expected showing from Walz, too Midwest nice to properly eviscerate JD's constant slimeballing.

Lugubrious - because it means the opposite of how it sounds!

It's fun to say, but is defined as sadness, which the word can't evoke

[-] Godric@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

I don't understand, why is that your word?

[-] Godric@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Gormless is one of my favorites too. Shame it's not used as much as it should be in general.

[-] Godric@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

Yeah, that word means uncle-like, but it's very much a word for a fun or chill uncle vibe.

Don't you slander uncledom like that, you unavuncluar tranch!

Oh my god, is that what those funky-wunky little lines around Omg meant?

Before I just thought it was just a sensationalist garbage headline, I had no idea someone ACTUALLY said "Omg" in relation to the article, mind blown, thanks

[-] Godric@lemmy.world 54 points 6 days ago

Unrelated to the content, how does a self respecting journalist start an article's title with "Omg"?

Like I feel dirty even giving them a click when I have no obligation to society, it's just depressing to see them presenting as a credible news source

"The US government will evacuate US citizens who have been unable to book commercial transit..."

And "The US embassy is not evacuating US citizens at this time. There is a commercially available flight available..."

There's a word we Americans like to use for liars who stretch the truth to fit their narrative: Republicans. Be a shame if we had to change it.
