This planet was a paradise

idk man, the "kill or be killed" nature of existence is kinda not really "paradise"

archive.org

It was just attacked by hackers a few months ago, no to mention all the lawsuits they've been getting, and cost of maintenance of TERABYTES of data. They really need the funding to survive.

Edit: Missed the FOSS part, but still, its worth mentioning. archive.org is not an open source software, but they are a non-profit doing something that benefits all of us. And they are transparent about how they operate. More like a "Free and Transparent Community Service", rather than "FOSS". And not to mention, the many FOSS software they could preserve in case they stop getting maintained, so they could get picked up later, and not be forever lost. It goes hand-in-hand with the philosophy of FOSS: benefiting society.

You cant legally (edit: in the USA, at least) shoot at drones even if they are tresspassing.

Well, technically they wouldn't even be tresspassing since FAA owns all airspace, they'd be inside FAA airspace.

Shooting down a drone is treated the same as shooting down a manned aircraft, a felony. (not that they would actually enforce it, but its technically on the books)

Signal jammers are also illegal (again, not that someone would enforce it, but its on the books)

What would likely happens is:

If a rich person shoot down a non-rich person's drone, the drone operator gets punished for "reckless drone flight" slap a huge fine if first offence, potentially jail time for future offences. The illegal act of shooting down a drone would not be enforced.

If a rich person flew a drone to harass a non-rich person, and the non-rich person shoots it down, boom, felony conviction for the person shooting down the drone, zero punishment for the drone operator.

This is how drone issues would be resolved

Supposedly his manifesto, we don't even have enough souces to confirm nor deny its legitimacy because mainstream media doesn't want to talk about it.

Key facts about Jury Trials:

  1. Jurors cannot be punished for their decison either "guilty" or "not guilty", no matter if the decision was the "right" or "wrong" decison.

  2. A verdict of "not guilty" cannot be appealed nor overturned.

  3. A person cannot be tried for the same criminal act more than once. Famously known as the "No Double Jeopardy" clause. (although: according to the law, mistrials / hung juries don't count as a trial for the purposes of "No Double Jeopardy")

Interpret these facts however you will. wink wink, nudge nudge

As John F Kennedy said "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable"

Either we fix this peacefully through the democratic process, or people are gonna riot.

Eh... probably not even the guy.

They're just mad he (or she, we cant be sure) got away and are scrambling to find a scapegoat.

Doing political stuff for Christmas is one way to ensure you have a nazi kid forever. Just ignore the politics, give a normal gift. Love will conquer all the hatred that he has. Good luck.

Um...

😳

I've seen this one.

Is Brazil gonna re-elect the coup plotter like some other country did?

Please don't do that again.

Not really. Not to be dismissive of the harms of a 2nd term trump.

But you have to understand what American history has been.

People were literally enslaved in the early days, then the country was literally at war with itself over slavery. Then Jim Crow and Segregation. Black people were lynched. White mobs would kill black people.

Chinese people were targeted by the Chinese Exclusion Act and banned from entry, some were US Citizens too and they weren't except either.

The US had a major economic crash in 1929. Got into 2 world wars. American Citizens of Japanese ancestry were literally arrested and held in camps because of their ancestry. Went through cols war, the red scare, mccathyism. People randomly getting accused of being "communists" and arrested. Unions get cracked down. Protests were brutally suppressed, more violently than in modern day. Black people protesting for their rights and took a bus down south got burned. Civil Rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. literally got assassinated.

That is the American history.

And here we are, through such a shitty history, democracy survived, and voting rights expanded to so many people. First to Black people, then to Women.

Back then a majority of the population supported segregation, institutionalized racism. But today, a majority of people are okay with interracial marriage.

I have high hopes we can survive another trump term.

It won't be pleasent, but we'll survive.
