Jesus christ. I'm wondering I the stalker is a cop ๐Ÿค”

Have you have an interaction with a cop recently (before the stalking started)?

Gotta wait like 2 days and redditors will forget it then post it. ๐Ÿคฃ

Legality is only part of the issue.

Think of all the scammers and identity theft fraudsters.

Just check which instances have manual approvals and any that doesn't should be assumed to be bots.

(That is, unless the instance admins decided to be in kahoots with the bots ๐Ÿค”)

Lets say you live in a world where the world government has decided people are getting too addicted to the internet and ordered the internet to be shut down for 5 years. The 100 GB of storage is all you have (excluding essential system files for your Operating System). You have 24 hours before the internet is getting shut down. What do you download?

No using search engines or calculator, just imagine you were given these choices in jail and got 30 seconds to choose.

Would you rather have the executioner (Please excuse my use of firearm terminology, I'm not an expert in guns):

[A] Load 1 chamber of 6 and spin before pull the trigger 6 times (spinning the chamber after each pull)

or

[B] Load 2 chamber of 6 and spin before pull the trigger 3 times (spinning the chamber after each pull)

or

[C] Load 4 chamber of 6 and spin before pull the trigger once

If you survive, you are pardoned of all crimes you've committed in the past and get to leave prison (alive, obviously), no compensation tho. (Attempts to end your own life is illegal)

Which of these options would you pick?

No search engine, no calculator pls. I'm bored and wanna make this fun. ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you are confused, ask in comments.

Edit: Reworded it to clarify that the chamber is spinned before the first trigger is pulled.

This question is inspired by the Australian law that bans people under the age of 16 from social media. But then when I though about it, couldn't the same argument be made for video games? I mean there are kids just waste their time on video games and not do any of their school assignments.

This purpose of post isn't me arguing for or against the Australian law or any hypothetical law about a similar ban on video games, I just want to see Lemmy's opinions on video games compared to social media. To me they seem like both have valid arguments of being harmful.

Edit: Added "Why or why not?" to the question.

Because to me, they seem like de facto "Agree and "Disagree" buttons, whether or not it was the intent.

But like real question: Why do people ask these type of questions?

So I've just been thinking about privacy, and how everyone's location can be tracked. Then I realized: What about people who have no permission to enter the country?

Like do they just decide to not have a phone, or do they still have phones and just roll the dice and hope they don't get caught?

Like people always say reddit is filled with bots, but I looked through the users of the top posts and didn't find evidence that they are bots.

Like how do you know who is a bot? Is there things to look out for?

Edit: And I'd appreciate it if there are real examples of bots getting caught and the evidence of them being bots.

Recently, my life feels like a blur, like I dont really remember what happened even in the past 2 weeks, and this has cause me some anxiety.

I just want to know if this is what everyone's memory is like.

How much of your life do you remember, like do you only remember major events in your life, or do you remember like what you have been doing for the past 2 weeks.

What I mean is like, if someone asked you "So, what have you been last week"

You can come up with an answer like:

"So I watched [X] movie on Netflix on Monday, went to a nearby park on Tuesday, ate at [X] restaurant on Wednesday, found a new interesting Youtube Channel to watch on Thursday, petted a friendly neighborhood cat on Friday..." etc...

And like you can still remember what happened that week the following Monday.

Like obviously most people wouldn't remember what they ate every meal, but like just one major event that happened each day.

I feel like I don't remember shit. Not a single event.

I mean, this question is not just about normal criminals.

Think like very bad crimes. Like serial killers, rapists, child rapists, terrorists, corrupt officials, terrible leaders, cruel dictators, generals that ignore laws of war, or like people has bad as Hitler. Which of these people do you think deserve a respectful burial, if any.

Is there a level of evilness that you think should not be allowed to have a proper buriel or have their corpses mutilated. Or should everyone deserve a respectful burial regardless of crimes.

I personally don't even know how to answer this question myself. Like the funeral isn't even for the dead. Its for the living. So to me, the question seems like, should the relatives of a bad person be allowed to see the corpse treated respectfully. I personally don't have an answer to this question.

I mean, I see "leaked" videos of protests in authoritarian countries like China and just wonder why they dont just like make a backdoor that disables videos from being recorded. Or use some sort of 0-day exploit that installs malware on their phones and disable cameras.

I mean, I can't be the only one that thought of it, right? Surely someone in the government would've thought of it.

Wonder why such tactic isn't being used.
