My friend who never watches anime always goes on about the same point and I just have to laugh because there are maybe 2 shows matching that description out of 100 in a year.

I would happily bet money that federation keeps getting kicked down the road. "Oh, we have to do X first. Also Y just came up, and you know it was a waning moon last night so...." They have no reason to enable it as long as things go their way.

Well a good indicator is if I have to check the source code of a packaged program to understand what something does, the documentation is not good enough. And yes I've had to do this far too much.

Which is invisible to users, meaning they can ignore it or handwave it with "I haven't got anything to hide".

Especially when people decide to tag NSFW based on swearing... seriously? Thankfully I have not seen it much on Lemmy, but this is a common occurence on Reddit dashcam subs.

Self-hosting any wiki software solves the problems of Fandom, surely? I fail to see how federation solves any of Fandom's issues.

At current count, 911. I used to sit around 3000 but managed to shave it down, now it's creeping back up.

Too many things I want to download or read later and not as much time as I used to have. I have been making an effort to use alternative methods though such as bookmarks, YouTube playlists, or just, you know, doing the thing in the moment.

The same as many others: sharing content I like, participating in comments more often, and generally being more active than I usually am. Also been trying to build a community at !roadcam@lemmy.ca, but I don't know that it's going anywhere. Obviously most people will head to !idiotsincars@lemmy.world because it was more popular on Reddit.
