Are you being purposefully obtuse? Proton is based on Wine yes, but it is it's own distinct project.
Better alternatives? That is highly subjective. Itch's store-front experience sucks balls and they lack 98% of the features Steam has. I appreciate their existence and have bought games from them, but language like that will only serve to alienate people that know how much Itch lacks compared to Steam.
Logically speaking, I would sit with the wolf pack. Airline seatbelts are not made for wolves and I fully believe they would not be held by such paltry restraints. This leads me to the conclusion that my demise is not only certain, but an inevitability. With this in mind I would much rather be the first victim, for my death will be quicker while they are hungrier, and I shall save myself the mental trauma of seeing them devour the poor linux user before I reach my untimely end.
They need to convince you it's different so you'll eat the $50/month subscription.
Cost. The gaps in most NA stalls are so big you will know whether it's occupied anyway just by walking past.
Because it's different for every website.
Lemmy is what we make it. I can't keep a community alive on my own, but sadly that is the reality for a lot of subjects right now.
I tried out Plex when I was first setting up my media server and having to do a bunch of stuff through Plex servers was one of the main reasons I jumped ship immediately. The hardware is in my house, the files are in my house, I never want it to leave my house, I kept thinking why the hell do I need to mess around with Plex accounts and online connections??
You should treatyoself by getting that diagnosed.
And as we all know, big corporations always keep their promises.
This problem is solved by having paper towels (air dryers suck) and placing the paper towel trash bin next to the door so that you can use your hand-full of towels as a barrier between the handle and throw the towels away as you leave.
