Lol league was extremely toxic in 2010 when streaming wasn't a thing. I got sucked in and became toxic in 2011-2012 before I quit altogether. Best decision I ever made regarding video games.
It is the player base, not the streamers, that ruin the game.

I have a Code, simulations, ECAD, and FreeCAD folder in the workspace folder where projects or 1-offs are stored and when I want to bring them to git, I copy them over, play around in the project folders again, then copy changes over when I am ready to commit.
I could better use branching and checking out in git, but large mechanical assemblies work badly on git.
People have hit on most of them here, but here is another big one:
Fitness apps. Mainly calorie tracking, workout tracking and heart rate tracking

(No, gadget bridge is not a replacement for 99% of cases and doesn't even support the gold standard for heart rate tracking, polar H10)
For calorie tracking, the massive food databases required, barcode scanning, and crowd sourcing are generally not compatible with the open source community's privacy ideals. OpenNutriTracker has promise though!
For workout tracking, none of them have any device support and most of them are dead and abandoned. Not to mention heart rate zones, stats and training trends, etc... FitoTrack and Opentracks are good starts though.
And then a google fit alternative. Something that can integrate sleeping, workouts, heart rates, sensors, etc.. Data all in one aggregates place. It is a huge task and it makes sense that there is no open source alternative for it. Especially when the components aren't individually there to aggregate.
The key is to become famous and create hype around your gambling bet so other people artificially inflate the value so that you have a "theoretical" $60 billion.
The thing is, you can ONLY have a conversation with extremely like minded people. If you are not tip-of-the-left authoritarian, you are called a filthy lib and shunned.
Sadly it just suffers the same syndrome as that conservative sub on reddit: "Anyone who doesn't agree with me on every important and semi important point is literally the same as my worst enemy and I will fill their inbox with insults"
I disagreed with the way they often brigade posts and they said I was "indiscernible from the racist, fascist party" from my country. Like they went through the effort of looking up where I was from and the political parties there to find the most right wing one to name call and insult me with lol. That says a lot about the community culture, in my opinion.
It also has heavy Russian apologist content. Like, I even understand that MLs love China and excuse everything they do, but Russia is literally an right wing oligarchy with no health care and crippled social benefits that is led by an extreme right wing authoritarian fascist. I get that they are China's ally by the enemy-of-my-enemy principle, but that doesn't mean they are automatically good.
The problem with that is that will cause areas to drive up housing prices to expand the untaxed group to general more "upper middle class" to price out undesirables and draw in higher earners as a form of tax break. This already happens without the tax bracket scaling and would probably get 10x worse.
I don't have a great alternative, but maybe a weighted CoL combined with 0% below median income in the district? Something like that, but that would probably cause low CoL areas to pay way more taxes. Maybe I am thinking of it wrong.
Hey, I have used freecad a lot. FreeCAD is good, not great as a cad software. But it is the only truly "no strings attached." The problem with it was development was almost at a standstill for things that actually mattered. A new company has formed around commercializing it and are working with the original Dev team.
Updated UI, topological naming fix, some assembly and actual functional defaults were promised for Q1 2024 and releasing it as a 1.0 version.
I think it is worth it to learn how to use right now as in the next 2 years it should become an actual viable CAD alternative for things outside of simple projects.
I wouldn't try parametric models in freecad. They use a really really bad spreadsheet reference system that recalculates you model, not on every change, but every CLICK which means that when you have a variable that is reference more than 10 times or so, it begins to take longer and longer to even start to enter a new value. One time it took 5+ minutes just to get into the spreadsheet cell before even being able to edit its contents.
For parametric, use OpenSCAD (or openscad in freecad) until they implement actual, working variables.
And yet this was all done by the "national Retain Federation".

That's an organizational issue. I think almost all photo software (except lychee) is more "hands-off, everything internal" because of a few reasons:
If you sync between clients, do you want the software constantly shuffling files around on every device if something is changed in one album?
if you have chronological folders, do you want to make duplicates (double or triple the space) for every album including said picture?
If you work with albums, how do you deal with random folders not in albums?
how do you deal with conflicts of photos being put in different albums on different synced devices?
The solution for all of these is "leave the files where they are" and deal with everything via databases to organize photos. This way you can export or download albums for giving to someone and it will just pull all of the relevant files without having sync or reorganization issues.
A very American/British problem lol. Here in Belgium everyone is bilingual, many people trilingual, a couple people at my work quadlingual. Here there would be no such compensation.
That being said, if you have to regularly do work outside of your job description/duties, then ask for more money/benefits/compensation.
It of course depends on the situation. Asking 1-2 times per year to check over a translated document or communicate with a client? That isn't a big deal in my opinion. Asking it every day? Then it is a new duty and should be compensated.
