You'll feel a bit of frustration as your intended message is missed completely in favor of something that the petitioner wanted to hear, and the same constellation might mean different things to different people, but that's just part of the game. The story unfolds around you and its progression is communicated to you only through the explanations your petitioners give for their visit. Each is a uniquely unreliable narrator, so what you believe is for you to decide.
Two endings, and an interesting story with some occasionally unexpected consequences that might make you feel bad, so if a game giving you a case of the sads is unappealing, maybe take that into consideration.

Documentaries often include recreations of events, such as historical events that weren't filmed. It's usually noted as being a recreation or re-enactment. If AI-created images are used instead and are noted as being such, I don't really see the problem, assuming the images are curated to depict the scene accurately.

I can't help but feel like this is their endgame with these ridiculous laws. They're making their states so unpalatable to reasonable people that all the reasonable people leave. Everyone who remains are either "the poors" who can't afford to go (and who they work to disenfranchise as much as possible), or people who are just as far-right as they are, securing both their own seats and presidential election votes for their candidate.

Many, if not most, of us are jealous of other countries, though. Really, this is only a hard truth for the MAGA crowd, and even that is (I think) largely the fault of the nationalist propaganda that's been shoveled at us since we were kids.
As an American, I agree with you, though - the US is in no way a 'strong democracy', or much of a democracy at all. It may once have been, but it certainly hasn't been the case for a long time.
