Sorry...I was getting an error and didn't think it was posting.

I deleted the posts and they were marked with the garbage can but they were hanging around and people were upvoting them. I decided to edit them to deleted to avoid confusion.

That legislation is Bill C-59, which would require companies to provide evidence to back up their environmental claims. It is currently awaiting royal assent.

"They're censoring conservative speech!"

You know, I'm old enough to remember when "conservative speech" didn't mean "lies".

As of Thursday, it was also what led the Pathways Alliance, a consortium of Canada's largest oilsands companies, to remove all its content from its website, social media and other public communications.

Their entire website was unsupported by evidence?

It sounds to me like the law is doing exactly what it was intended to do.

They should talk to YouTube to find out how successful their months long efforts to block at blockers have been. This is an effort by pearl clutchers to do the impossible in a domain that they know absolutely nothing about.

Is it to much to ask that the Conservatives actually tell us what their plans are, in detail, to solve the problems that they're moaning about instead of doing nothing but chant, "TrUdEaU bAd!" ad nauseum?

It's actually an antisemitic trope repurposed to attack the LGBT* community.

McLaughlin compared the landfill ads to a plan by former federal Conservative leader Stephen Harper in 2015 to set up a telephone hotline for people to report “barbaric cultural practices.” The idea met with widespread public backlash.

Fear, hate, and intolerance won't win elections in Canada. We are mostly socially progressive. We need a non-corrupt financially responsible government that doesn't cut taxes on the rich while cutting services to the rest of us to pay for it and neglect education, healthcare, and infrastructure spending while claiming that they're saving money but that understands that the large majority of Canadians don't want to relitigate settled social issues or to entertain threats to our hard earned rights.

Yes, thanks for jogging my memory. I would have just ignored you and let my comment stand but I got to get the dig in about being a pedant so I figured I owed it to you since you were technically right which any pedant will tell you is the best kind of right.

Remember the Air India Bombing

There are Sikh terrorists. Some of them are in Canada.

Not all Sikhs are terrorists. There are lots of wonderful, peaceful Sikhs in Canada.

These are important points to remeber in this discussion. The current Indian government are right wing, nationalist extremists who are not our friends.

It's a shame the provincial government was so busy with picking fights with Ottawa, spiking the provinces renewables industry, and christofascist virtue signaling that it didn't hand time to effectively inspect and take enforcement action against this company before it infected hundreds of children.

Maybe they could develop a platform that includes things that the majority of Candians want to vote for instead of more, "TrUdEaU bAd!" nonsense? That would be awesome.

I've flown with lots of airlines and have never beet treated with bare toothed disdain by any airline employee other than Air Canada employees. Where other airlines smile, Air Canada sneers. They simply haven't caught on to the fact that social media allows their customers to strike back. Were it not for social media we would never have known that the crew of this plane tried to force these customers to sit in vomit covered seats or that the captain WAY overreacted and removed customers for being rightly upset about being asked to sit in someone else's vomit for 4 hours.
