The main thing is a script to stop any media playing and turn off the screen after x minutes, so I can fall asleep watching YouTube or listening to something. There's probably already an app for that but this is pretty customizable.

Another stupid use is putting the phone on silent while using the camera app because Samsung won't let you turn off the camera shutter sound.

Still can't tell if it's AI but here's a very similar photo from Shanghai which does seem real https://nz.pinterest.com/pin/131659989093808148/

I thought if it was real it could be from the same photographer but no luck, however there are some really nice photos by her here if you like cityscapes.

Edit: found an earlier reference to this photo from 2019 which also claims to be in Shanghai but not where it actually is.

The real question is who uses the actual start menu, as in tiles and program list. I've only ever seen people type the program name

Let alone Spain has already implemented a system for this which is part of a bigger EU effort. https://www.politico.eu/article/spain-builds-porn-passport-to-stop-kids-watching-smut/

Sadly, I don't think this is going away.

Well it's ugly but at least it doesn't take away functionality

I do have a license but refuse to drive. I guess the main reasons would be:

  • I get lost very easily and navigating while driving is much harder (no stopping, turning around etc)
  • You can't entirely zone out or use that time to do something else like reading so if it's a daily commute this is just lost time
  • Road infrastructure here is terrible. I actually find it much safer to drive at night because at least you can see the headlights of cars coming out of blind intersections
  • Just like there are (many) places you can't go without a car, there are also places you can't go with a car because there is no parking, mainly the city center, which is the place I visit the most

You also can't drive drunk and I kinda like drinking.

Sure, I guess I included the subway in "trains". Most of my commute does not really have a view.

This was a wild read

I've only used ChatGPT and it's mostly good for language-related tasks. I use it for finding tip-of-my-tongue words or completing/paraphrasing sentences. Basically fancy autocorrect. It's also good at debugging stuff sometimes when the language itself doesn't give useful errors (looking at you sql). Other than that, any time I've asked for factual information it's been wrong in some way or simply not helpful.

Relaxing when in a distance. Super annoying when there's a lot of them close to you.

Any type of container that closes if it's in good enough shape (bottles, jars, cardboard boxes, bags). Also small open containers like yogurt or instant soup cups are probably the most useful for holding small items/snacks. When they become too many, you pick the best of each and throw away the rest. I also tend to keep foam packaging even though I've never found an actual use for it.

Every time I've checked in online the qr code is the boarding pass so there's no need to go to the kiosk, they check it on your phone. But as the others said it may vary depending on airline or country. And you probably don't need the app at all unless the website says otherwise.
