Yes, that’s true, but your original comment said that they gained power through elections. It’s technically true but even then multiple parties threw him out of office a while back (not sure, but I remember hearing about it in the news).

And same with Hamas. Gaza hasn’t had a real election since the 2000s, they’ve protested against Hamas multiple times.

I mean, there have been Jewish folks In the region before the modern state of Israel.

But yeah you’re right in that Israel came about because of the Holocaust and the fact that zionists wanted out of Europe and Europe was antisemitic still.

Haaretz seems to be a better alternative. Wiki says it’s left leaning and praised for its reporting and commentary.

So I did a little research on this -mostly because every Israeli person I’ve talked to IRL and online vehemently hates what their government is doing. And I found that this article states that the poll was taken from Israel Hayom, which according to Wikipedia is:

Basically, careful where you get your sources. A Palestinian YouTuber I follow said “don’t trust Western media” and I have to back up that statement here. These people have an agenda, and Israel Hayom’s agenda is to help make Bibi look good.

One of the towns I grew up the longest in (I moved a lot as a kid) has a river running through it that Gary Ridgeway would dump his victims’ bodies. I lived about a 15 minute drive from one of the dumping grounds.

One of my elementary school friends also claims that an older siblings of theirs was murdered by ridgeway, but it hasn’t been officially confirmed.

Somewhat related, I have a funny story related to Killer Klowns.

My local movie theatre had a live screening of it several years ago that I went to with a friend. I had never seen it before, I barely ate that day and had just gotten off of a 13 hour shift, and of COURSE I had to get one of those terrible canned cocktails. So there I am, shit faced in the back row, my friend sitting next to me, I’m whispering my reactions to him to whole time, when at the end of the movie it’s revealed that the other guy sitting next to me was one of the brothers who worked on the movie.

I don’t remember a lot of that night but my friend said he recognized him immediately but didn’t say anything. Apparently the guy looked happy to sit next to someone drunkenly reacting to his movie for the first time in their lives.

This though! You can be religious without being a delusional monster.
