Normalize these kinds of interactions. A) it's funny, b) that shit seriously gets lodged in your brain sometimes for no fucking reason lmao.

This guy is almost certainly a cross burner. The article seems like it's downplaying the fact that it wasn't the question "do you think discrimination exists in Idaho" that made him angry, it was this:

“[J]ust because someone hasn’t personally experienced discrimination, doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Racism and discrimination are real issues here in Idaho, as anyone familiar with our state’s history knows,” the statement read. “I highlighted our weak hate crime laws and mentioned the presence of the Aryan Nations in northern Idaho as undeniable evidence of this reality.”

He probably felt called out by the mention of the Aryan Nation groups. I can't imagine any other reason why he'd suddenly lose his shit unless he felt called out.

You know, he could have gone down in history as the angry meme man who told people they were fired on TV; and his crimes and shitty personality would have likely gone overlooked until after his death. Instead, he ran for president and this is how everyone is going to remember him. Incoherent, rambling, unstable, stupid, out of control, and demented; all while being regularly trotted out in front of the media by his own party like he's some kind of show animal.

I don't feel pity for him, but I can't help but be amused at how he didn't just shoot his legacy in the foot, he blew it up with a grenade.

Ironing seems like it'd be a really chill and relaxing activity, if we had time to engage in it.

While most sugaring operations used to rely on buckets and spiles, more are upgrading to vacuum tubing systems able to suck more sap from the tree over longer periods.

How much you wanna bet this is gonna be bad in the long-run? I'm predicting that increasing the sap harvest from individual trees is going to damage the trees; and while the effects may not be seen in the next couple years, I bet eventually the trees will start getting sick and start dying because they don't have enough sap.

Man, a lot of people here don't understand how the music industry works. From the perspective of someone who's been loosely following the music industry, what I've learned is that it doesn't matter if Spotify gave up 2/3rds of their revenue, or 100% of it, the artists would still make fuck all.

Why?

The labels love taking their cuts and as a result, artists make very little. Instead of taking the blame for giving artists a <10% cut of the label's revenue from their music (my understanding is that it's pretty common for musicians to get <10%, sometimes <5% if you're on a particularly shitty label), the labels are blaming platforms like Spotify.

Now, I'm not saying that Spotify is blameless, however I think there's a lot of misdirection from the labels going on. I don't remember anyone complaining about pre-spotify services like Pandora Radio for not paying out enough when they were largely ad-supported, which is another reason I'm not totally buying the, "it's cause it's free" argument either.

Fuck, remember Pandora?

Call me paranoid, but I feel like the "gay furry" part is a false flag. Especially the demand for irl catgirls and not catboys. I mean, they could be lesbians, but something has felt off about everything they claim responsibility for.

OH MAN I GET SO EXCITED WHEN COMPANIES PATENT GAME MECHANICS OH BOY GOD I LOVE THAT SHIT SO MUCH MMMMM I LOVE ME SOME EXCLUSIVITY

fuck you Sony.

Edit: Sony might actually run into some issues with prior art in this case. For one thing, based on the article it sounds vague enough to conflict with game saves in general; however even from the standpoint of being able to load from any point in the game, regardless of saves, even that has been done before. For an example, Factorio's demo/replay system allows you to load a demo from a save that you've enabled it on, scrub through the demo to a specific moment in time, and then save that moment as a new save to continue from.

That's what I find insane. It's like people have lost the ability to say, "what Israel is/was doing was fucked, but also fuck Hamas for mass murder and rape". People get upset when you say, "I feel bad for the Israelis and Palestinians". You're either pro-hamas, anti-israel or pro-israel, anti-hamas. You're either pro-palestine and anti-israel, or anti-palestine and pro-israel.

You know you can be sympathetic to the civilians on both sides and hate the extremists right?

Posted this reply in another instance, but several years ago researchers found that adding a virtual nose dramatically decreased motion sickness. However, I haven't seen any developers adding one in games. I wonder if it'd help.

I've heard the fix for lost luggage (in the USA) is unironically to put a flare gun or starter pistol in checked luggage (note, you do have to declare it and ensure it's properly stored). Why? The airlines get their asses reamed by the ATF if they lose it. If I'm not mistaken, the same laws about firearms in checked luggage apply to a flaregun as they do a Browning M2. If they're lax enough about following firearm laws to lose a flaregun then they're lax enough to lose a high-caliber, fully automatic heavy machine gun.

Note, this is $5-$24. Apple could have donated a whopping $5.
