Just to say it, a job in the defence industry means you will not be drafted to the front line. If you can not leave Russia for some reason and want to avoid to fight, it is by far the best realistic option. So just imagine the personal shortages of companies outside the defence industry.
The current budget allocation is about as high as the one in the 2024 budget was initially. They just added further spending over the year. Th other part is using Russian money instead. The real reason this is the current state, is that they want to get the budget passed as quickly as possible and the debt brake means that any funding for Ukraine has to be balanced with a cut in social spending. Obviously that is not popular.
Most have not been silent. They mostly said that Ukraine is allowed to use Western made weapons in Russia including Kursk. Idk what the Russians are talking about.
That is probably one of the reasons the others are maybe:
Ukraine needs Western aid. They are not going to risk that for some stupid revenge. That kind of revenge would have the very serious consequence of loosing the war, turning it into no revenge at all.
Putin is not going to turn up in Mexico. Mexico might not care much about the war in Ukraine, but the US does and would be rather easy to do it for Mexico.
The last budget also only had €4billion for Ukraine aid. That was increased by €3billion to the €7 billion actually send in the end. The reason for that is simple. We do not know how the war will continue or even if. So the German government signs big deals with the military industry, which give the industry the ability to set up large scale production, but allow the German government to stop ordering more weapons quickly. Then additional funding is approved as need be. So if somebody takes Putins job and makes peace with Ukraine, Germany does not send unneeded arms to Ukraine.
Sorry, but that is the background. German government communication sucks for a lot of reasons.
Schulden machen genau dann Sinn, wenn man das Geld investiert und später mehr Geld hat als es gekostet hat die Schulden aufzunehmen. Das stimmt vorallem bei Infrastruktur und die geht gerade in Deutschland den Bach runter und wir müssen viel fossile ersetzen. Langfristig bedeutet das natürlich weniger Ausgaben für Energieimporte, was wirklich viele Projekte sinnvoll macht, aber da müssen wir jetzt investieren um später reicher zu sein. Mit der Schuldenbremse geht das nicht.
Die wollen eine kapitaldeckelte Rente haben? Die Rentenkasse 359,5Milliarden€ in diesem Jahr ausgegeben. Der Bundeshaushalt war 445,8Milliarden€ und 126,8Milliarden€ davon gehen sowieso schon in die Rente(was echt krass ist). Wenn man die 4% Regel benutzt die ungefähr sagt was man mit Aktien für die Rente sparen muss, sind das 8987,5Milliarden€ also das vierfache unserer jetzigen Staatsverschuldung. Also wer soll den das bitte bezahlen? Wir schaffen nicht mal 17Milliarden€ für Klimaschutzprojekte. Also wie will die CDU das 528fache für die Rente ausgeben ohne die Schuldenbremse aufzuheben.
Ich finde es immernoch amüsant, dass es bei uns in der Gegend noch immer eingleisige nicht elektrifizierte Strecken gibt, aber eine zweigleisige mit Strom wurde eingestellt.
In welcher Welt is eine Magnetschwebebahn günstiger als ein normaler Zug? Naja jedes Geld in öffentlichen Nahverkehr ist halbwegs sinnvoll, aber trotzdem die U-Bahn in aus dem Ring in die Randgebiete zu erweitern. So in etwas:
