I mean, it does help to read the sign when you're getting your drink. The caffeine content is fairly clearly indicated.
Yeah it's honestly insane. Getting to the point where I think I'm just going to filter out the technology and politics communities despite being interested in the content and in some of the discussions. There are so many over the top toxic people on lemmy. In one of the youtube adblocking threads, there was a guy who said something along the lines of "honestly it's worth it for me to have youtube premium" and he was downvoted and called a paid google employee. Like it's so absurd. You can't say anything that goes against the circlejerk without being dogpiled on. It's behavior that's far worse and more consistently worse than anything I've ever seen on reddit. It's not the first time I've seen stuff like that. I remember all the backlash when sync came out. I like the app and the dev so I paid for it but all these FOSS bros were acting like the dev is the second coming of Hitler for daring to make money for his work. It's exhausting. I hate ads and subscriptions but I need to live my life at some point and just begrudgingly accept them. I can't spend all day seething about it like a lot of people on lemmy do. Again, it's just kind of exhausting reading a lot of threads now. I thought I was going crazy but it's nice to see that other people have similar observations.
The most concerning thing to me is the fact that they can ban users from playing on their own servers. Moderation should be on the server owners imo. Microsoft being able to ban someone from their own server that they self host or pay to host via a third party is a big issue.
That being said, I don't think that Microsoft's moderation has been as apocalyptic as a lot of people made it out to be. It's just the principle that I take some issue with.
This has been bugging me too. I think it goes in alphabetical order which is frustrating.
Tech bros have a boner for LLM AIs. They don't have anything to lose from the development of these AIs, so they don't seem to understand the concerns of people who do.
On top of this, it's becoming increasingly clear that many tech bros have never been genuinely moved by a piece of art whether it's visual or written so they genuinely don't understand that AI art is devoid of any real emotional impact. AI art just throws together cliches. It reminds me of that shitty AI generated conversation between Plato and Bill Gates when were so many tech bros talking about how "inspiring" it was.
Don't get me wrong, I love these AI tools coming out but they're so over hyped sometimes.
Just buy it and you'll get no ads. Not everything is free. There are plenty of other free options, anyways.
I mean, there are potential negative effects associated with any substance use. It's not worth stopping the legalization of an otherwise safe substance because of a condition that 0.01% of people get. It's like saying that we need to stop producing peanuts because some people are deathly allergic.
No streaming platforms pay well. Are you saying that artists should pull out of all streaming services? How would new artists get their music to a general audience?
The price increase is there because enough people can justify paying for it. I'm not sure why it's so confusing for you to understand that. Idk man... If you don't think it's worth it, don't buy it.
I've seen tons. It's the one big bug that's been annoying me a lot. It's super frustrating to want to read a thread and then have all the comments jumbled. I'm sure it'll get fixed relatively quickly, though.
I tried jeroba and connect but ended up sticking with jeroba. It's not too bad and I didn't want to spend a lot of time trying different apps only to inevitably switch to sync lmao.
Definitely some of the best production value on youtube. Even his stuff from 10+ years ago holds up incredibly well aside from the resolution.
