That's also a good description for mechanical keyboards

Also, if the pan isn't large enough the pasta will stick I think. I say I think because despite having cooked pasta hundreds of times I've never had this happen lol

What it is just used for prosecuting adult non-trafficed sex workers?? That's such a ridiculous perversion of the original mission statement, what a piece of shit. "Helping" sex workers by making them go to prison lol, which is the same way police "help" people with substance abuse problems. He was also an investor in Uber so it's adds up that he only cares for making money.

I mean it is very very useful for specific purposes, like purchasing, uh, certain substances in certain, uh... unregulated online marketplaces.

As far as being a currency for other purposes goes though, I think it is incredibly unfit for purpose. And as far as being an investment vehicle goes it's essentially a ponzi scheme.

The FPTP voting system means everyone is held hostage voting for the party they hate the least. If you vote for a third party you just make it more likely the party you hate most will win because the vote is split.

Obviously things still wouldn't be perfect with a proportional voting system but I think it would take some power away from capitalist oligarchs because we will be able to vote for a party we like without just making the fascists more likely to win. The issue is the only two parties you can realistically vote for are highly incentivised to not change the voting system because they will lose a lot of the power they have.

Working 4 days would be OK if it was only for 6 hours each day. Although 8 hours for 3 days a week would be better even if they're the same hours

Maybe people can just use a different video calling program if the CEO of the company doesn't like people using it.

There is inflation I agree, but I think a significant percentage is from price gounging, around 30%. I saw a study detailing this that I could find and link if you want.

If you're wondering how it can happen simultaneously accross whole countries and much of the world, you can look up the concept of "price leadership."

I just made an account to reply to this lol. I finally bit the bullet and started using Lemmy a few days ago, the community here is of course much smaller than reddit but I would describe the comments here as being like the 1 in 10 comments on reddit that actually made me want to keep using the site. You don't see as many one word throw away pun comments here, which I'm not necessarily against but it gets very grating over time.

I just downloaded relay yesterday, I was always a RIF user but using relay in "sure drawer" mode is a pretty similar experience. Everyone here seems very chill and nice
