Currently at 30ish hours and still enjoying it.

Reminded me that Bethesda does release some great / huge games.

Albeit quite bugged at release,
but since they (usually) embrace the modding scene, lots of this can be / has been patched and even improved by the community.

The Next Gen update is a stupid cash-grab though, and imo should have never happened..

An official modpack would have been much better.

Yes/no.

I lived without YouTube / a Google account for years.

But I still use YouTube through a privacy respecting frontend:
https://www.privacyguides.org/en/frontends/#youtube

I usually go for:

  • On desktop: Invidious or Piped
  • On Android: Tubular or NewPipe

I write PHP on the daily and don't understand the hate it gets :/

At least I can work on Linux at home while my co-workers are stuck on Windows with their C#

For me it works very well,
see my comment here:

However I don't play anything with kernel based anti-cheat, so can't vouch for that

I run linux-xanmod-anbox for root support in Waydroid (Android on Linux).

And I configured my kernel to support VFIO (Virtual Function Input Output).
So I can fully pass through one of my GPUs to my Ameliorated Windows KVM,
which I use for both work and gaming.

Never ever would I consider playing a game with kernel level access.

I love Termux too,
but honestly I have little use-cases for it.

Back when I ran a server,
it was nice to be able to SSH into it through Termux from time to time to do some maintenance on the go.

Nowadays I still use Termux to ping/telnet devices sometimes, to see if they're reachable, also on the go.

But other then that,
I don't know what I'd use it for.

Since imo, most CLI stuff is way easier behind a laptop/desktop, due to having a larger screen available to you, for easier:

  • Copy/pasting/dialing in long commands
  • Reading of long/large command outputs

Remember,
if you participate in the subscription nonsense,
then you're supporting such a future.

If you refuse to buy subscriptions,
then you're standing up against it :)

I'm a developer, modder and privacy advocate, I know how to put a custom OS on my hardware, but I'm a minority.

However the average joe does not,
and they, the majority,
are forced into using spyware.

Often without them even knowing so,
which is a true issue

How about GApps tho? You know, the piece of spyware Google embeds in Android's system partition?

FYI:
Private open source alternative to it,
is MicroG
