In my town there is usually a long drive thru line for Raising Canes, but it snakes around the parking lot rather than the stroad. The few times I go there I park, walk in, and walk out with my food before the person who would have been ahead of me at the drive thru has even ordered.

I don't think google wants to get hit with another antitrust lawsuit for web browsing, so I am sure they will figure out some other deal to funnel money to Firefox

Buy an electric bicycle and use the money you would have spent on a car to run for a seat for local office on the platform to improve local transit infrastructure

You get to pick. 90 seconds, 90 minutes, 90 hours, 90 days, 90 weeks, 90 months, 90 years, 90 rotations around the Milky Way Galaxy, 90 cycles of the Big Crunch/Big Bang, 90 iterations of God, 90 iterations of whatever made God, etc...

I paid the $200 monthly subscription at lemmyplus(dot)com. When will I be able to see the HD image?

Blackouts are certainly a thing, and for the middle class in USA that would be considered intolerable. However, for the poor in the USA who sometimes go without electricity for lack of payment, having access to healthcare and education in exchange for the occasional blackout might be worth the trade.

As for speaking out against the government, citizens may not be incarcerated for speaking out (unless it actually threatens the government such as Manning, Snowden, and Winner), other forms of control are used. Usually that means pervasive propaganda and pitting people against each other through the Culture War.

I know Brotherhood tells a better overall story as it aligns more closely with the manga. BUT, the music and pacing of that scene in the original anime production of FMA hits a little harder, in my opinion.

I used to use nitter to view stuff people sent from twitter. Now I guess I won't ever look at twitter ever again.

My distro didn't make the cut. That meme is just the tip of the iceberg...

The problem with this argument is that the risk for someone taking advantage of the situation to accumulate power is the same under any system. I would rather take that risk for an economic system that aims to treat everyone more fairly than for one that, by design, sends wealth up to a select few who hoard it.

I have even better news if you live in the USA. The unemployment rate increased so the rich people can finally hire for lower wage and increase their profit margins...I mean the economy can finally get a handle on inflation
