I recall using an app way back when I used to root and haxor all the mobiles that would do this. Kind of a virtualbox for the Nexus phones/tablets, but it needed root to do it. Will have to look into this, would be interesting if it can do so in user space somehow.

Edit: Damn, still needs root. Was a longshot to be able to hook into system resources without it but was hoping for some bridge function.

I would have been just a couple years out of school at the time, not living anywhere near CO. It still stands out among all the shootings since though just because of the feel at the time that "that can't be real, people don't do things like that". It's a weird thing to recall a world where that was the case.

You know, this is a pretty smart way to approach the political side of this tactically.

Biden can't say deschedule it outright without offending at least some borderline fence sitters and the elder crowd indoctrinated with the old propaganda that made it out to be among the most terrible things.

By having the younger VP who wouldn't really have direct authority to have it changed but is directly I'm the same circles, it gets the idea out there as a 'very strong unofficial stance'.

Next step, the 'cool grandpa' moment when Biden gets to make a gesture for the younger crowd by having it pulled from the schedules. Financially the feds have undoubtedly been eyeing the income (and lack of incarceration costs) brought into states with legal sales for a while and would like a piece of it too.

Somewhere in that mine we're gonna have a bunch of iron miners getting squeaky voices and start sounding like the seven dwarfs.

Turns out I've been cultivating natural gardens and eco friendly habitat for years, much to the chagrin of my neighbors, just by not caring enough to spend my whole summer seeding, weeding, and spraying.

First it was copper wiring and plumbing, now people taking the radio towers. You ever stop to think maybe if someone had a bit more hope for having enough to live on stupid shit like this would stop?

I suspect it's because we see accurate representations of ourselves in every mirror. With voice though what we hear normally is distorted by the resonence of our jawbone, so hearing the version everyone else does when it's played back from a recording is alien and weird.

Last I was in one it wasn't nearly that much, but that was a couple decades back. My best guess is that so many places try to kill the unions by passing 'right to work' laws where people are not obligated to join even in a union voted shop. It makes it pretty tough to force a good deal when only a fraction of the workers are in and paying while they probably live in an area where people aren't concerned about working across a line.

Just wait until them tech savvy folks in Congress try to understand the difference between 'deepfakes' in the sense of pasting a new face on existing footage and whole cloth generative AI creating the entire scene, and then someone tells them that the latter is derived from multiple existing media sources. Gonna be some smoke pouring out of their ears like in the cartoons trying to slice up all the specifics.

The only people that it's confusing for are those who fear a 3rd part option. Preference 1, preference 2 preference 3 is all the end voter needs to know. If they can handle the myriad of different ballot formats out there that's not asking too much

There'e not enough knowledge and connectivity in the entire internet that could convince me to ever put a connection directly to my mind online.
