Except people at one point realized that IE is shit and switched to better alternatives. I don't see this happening with WhatsApp - everyone and their great grandfather uses it and all other messengers are niche occurrences

Ich versteh das Problem nich. Man will halt möglichst genau und rechtlich sicher formulieren. Dann muss man halt mal den ein oder anderen Begriff googeln, damit man weiß, was gemeint ist - halte ich für deutlich weniger nervig als die zahllosen potentiellen Rechtsstreits, die auf diese Weise umgangen werden.

Das mit dem heißesten Juli seit Beginn der Wetteraufzeichnungen gilt ja nur weltweit. Hier in Deutschland is doch gerade absolut Flaute, ich bin froh, wenn das Thermometer mal die 20-Grad-Marke knackt

The timing doesn't really add up though. ChatGPT was published in November 2022. According to the graphs on the website linked, the traffic, the number of posts and the number of votes all already were in a visible downfall and at their lowest value of more than 2 years. And this isn't even considering that ChatGPT took a while to get picked up into the average developer's daily workflow.

Anyhow though, I agree that the rise of ChatGPT most likely amplified StackOverflow's decline.
